Michelle Obama’s Brother: Craig Malcolm Robinson’s Senior Princeton Thesis Revealed
Mike Francesca Blog ^ | 3/5/08 | Mike Francesca

Much has been made of Michelle Obama’s Princeton thesis paper. Since her brother Craig Robinson has now given his thoughts on the campaign, one might be curious of what his own Princeton senior thesis reveals.

The title of Craig Malcolm Robinson’s senior thesis is “The Nature of Informal Social Structures Within a Prison”. It was completed at Princeton in 1983.

Here are some excerpts:

Trenton State Prison houses inmates mostly from the Trenton and Newark areas. This partially accounts for the racial make-up of the population. Racism, as I will show later, is accounted for as a result of the number of inmates who make up the majority of prisoners.….

In addition to the wall itself, the heavily armed tower guards make for a significant deterrent. Plus the fact that once on the outside an inmate becomes a wanted target for any promotion seeking police officer.….

Chapter V
Notes On Racism in Prison

When one begins to examine the highly unequal numbers of blacks in prison, one cannot begin with the prison itself. In order to understand the significant effect of racism one must examine the whole criminal justice system from arrest to ajudication to incarceration. It is no secret that Black males have and still do account for the majority of men incarcerated in the United States…

In order to understand the disproportion one must realize that, “…if the percentage of Black males in prison had been as low as the proportion of white men, the number of Black men in jail would have been 25,000!” These numbers should be inflated to attain an accurate picture of 1983. These figures only reinforce the notion of institutional racism throughout the criminal justice system.….

It was clear after completing the interviews that racism within the prison community is as one ex-guard put it, “…just as the whites, in normal societal situations, they have ‘control’ because they make up the majority.” As a result of being the majority instead of the minority Blacks do to whites on the inside what has been done to them on the outside.….

This may be one positive result of institutional racism within the prison (many prominent black leaders originated from prison; Malcolm X, George Jackson, Huey P. Newton, just to name a few).

There is obviously an urgent need for more affirmative action so we’ll get even more works of brilliancy like this one…

Mummm, large number of blacks in jail because large number of blacks arrested for crimes and tried in court and sentenced to jail. The WAY for blacks to reduce their numbers in jail IS TO QUIT COMMITTING DAMNED CRIMES!!!!

How dare you question the merits of this “honors” graduate from the Princeton Dept. of Sociology!! Obviously you are not sufficiently appreciative of the brilliant subtleties of his work. I’ll bet you’re the kind who does not regard Prof. Cornel West (now among the highest paid professors at Princeton) as the greatest inhabitant of the Princeton area since Albert Einstein was at the Institute of Advanced Study. You need to be part of the new multicultural re-education program that Obama plans to institute nationwide.

To be fair he was a very good athlete (one of the best basketball players in the Ivy League), and so he surely benefited from the athletic preferences schools as readily give to whites as to blacks.

it's sad how ignorance is now accepted.

we simply do not hold blacks to any standards of behavior or accomplishment

OMG - so both he and his sis did their thesis on racism - his about prison and hers about the agony of a black woman forced to attend an Ivy league college? That is rich, so to speak.

Blaming 'affirmative action' on the degradation of our education system, is starting at the result.

Our education system embraced 'affirmative action' so easily, because the idea and arguments for 'affirmative action' came from our 'educators'. Outside of technical, scientific facts, and trades, considering that most information is now available to who ever knows what to ask for it as simple as accessing the internet, higher education mostly served as class filters. Much like the next step from the guilds of the middle ages. They served to keep access to information that worked, the exclusive providence of the upper classes. We can see attempts at this residues in last weeks article, Working classes are less intelligent, says evolution expert .

The insistence that only the financially successfully can be intelligent, excludes those who choose to pursue any other line of interest but chasing the almighty dollar. It turns everything in to just another tool with which to get dollars. Yes the dollar has dominated our culture, it pervades through everything that man has created. But that part of our universe is so infinitesimal compared to the whole, that the dollar's attempt to monopolize our interests and energies almost seems like a conspiracy authored by some kind of minor god looking for worship for which it has done nothing to deserve.

I think the question that one has to ask is to what extent this guy believes what he wrote back than and to what extent he was giving the people grading his paper what they wanted to see.

So Michelle Obama's brother praises George Jackson for being a black leader! There's a connection between Jackson and the Weather Underground (Bill Ayers):

http://www.lucifereffect.org/about_content_quentin.htm

"George Jackson used it [a smuggled gun] to force the guards in the solitary confinement wing of the prison to free the 26 inmates housed there. "This is it, gentlemen, the Dragon has come," Jackson shouted to his fellow prisoners confined in the euphemistically named, "Maximum Adjustment Center." He was alluding to the writings of Vietnamese revolutionary leader, Ho Chi Minh, who said, "When the prison doors are open, the real dragon will fly out," Jackson continued, "The Black Dragon has arrived. He is here to free you." They beat, stabbed, strangled, and slit the throats of three guards and two informers who ironically had been housed there for their safety. In one account, George Jackson and prisoner Johnny Spain ran out onto the prison yard where Jackson was shot in the back, gunned down while attempting to scale the 20-foot wall in broad daylight. Spain was not shot, but captured."

"A year earlier, Jonathan Jackson, George's 17-year old brother, had orchestrated a dramatic invasion of the Marin Courthouse during a trial of three other prisoners." [He and his gang kidnapped a judge. See photos for shotgun attached to judge.]

From Wikipedia: "The sawed-off shotgun was being held under Judge Haley's chin by Magee. The shotgun went off. It was as if it was in slow motion--all outward features of his face moving away." Some accounts of the incident report that Judge Haley's head was taken almost completely off his body as a result of the close-range shotgun blast.

"George Jackson was killed at San Quentin on August 21st; and a week later, on August 28th the Weather Underground [Ayers and Dohrn] boldly blew up the offices of The California Department of Corrections in San Francisco’s Ferry Building, to protest to his “assassination.” "

One has to wonder -— did Michelle’s parents raise any kids who aren’t ignorant Affirmative Action graduated racists?

Princeton — sure has been diminished by learning they accept crap and racist blathering and call it a Senior Thesis!

Can Princeton not successfully teach that the reason so many blacks are in prison — disproportionate to their numbers in society - is that they COMMIT CRIMES in a disproportionate number?

How damned difficult is THAT to comprehend?

Of course not. That would put the RAT party out of business.

________

Sounds like his math is off too. One sixth (roughly) of the white prisoner population (either NJ or national) does not come out to 25,000.

Maybe if he didn’t have a racial axe to grind he would have looked at the statistics of men who have no father/mother at home and wind up locked up, they are much higher in every race and the family structure is more broken in the black community than anywhere else.

It seems every other profile I see of black athletes talks about how grandma raised him, and these are millionaires. Kids without stable families and no fear of repercussions are easy prey for gangs, mischief, etc., no matter what their race.

Couldn’t do that though, that would make too much sense and might brandish him a conservative. Instead it’s the same, tired old dogma of “institutional racism”, etc., etc., yawn........

Affirmative Action ~ the 'Pygmalion' approach to the world's ill's. Just teach them to speak our language, clean them up, and everything will be hunky dory. "Why can't the english learn to speak? " "My Fair Lady".

Why Can't the English Learn to Speak?

"Henry Look at her, a prisoner of the gutter,
Condemned by every syllable she ever uttered."

>snip<

By law she should be taken out and hung,
For the cold-blooded murder of the English tongue.

>snip<

Eliza Garn! Henry I ask you, sir, what sort of word is that?
It's "Aoooow" and "Garn" that keep her in her place.
Not her wretched clothes and dirty face.

>snip<

This verbal class distinction by now should be antique.

>snip<

This is the very same principle which has created the terrorist. How many of the terrorist and South American dictators were brought here to be educated in our education system and instead of embracing the values, which so abundantly blessed them with our superior education, instead used it to further their own agendas.

Michelle Obama's brother can count his blessings.

In general, black men were accepted as undergrads at Princeton, decades before women (of any race) were accepted.

As a female HS student in the 60's Hillary Clinton would not have been accepted at Princeton.
