Breaking: Eight Supers Switching to Hillary(operating chaos PUMA!)
Alegre's corner ^

Posted on 07/15/2008 8:39:40 PM PDT by maccaca

Big news folks - it looks like our efforts in contacting those Superdelegates are starting to pay off, so keep on writing to them (ok, maybe Donna B's a waste of time). There are unconfirmed reports, based on phone banking efforts to reach out to Super Ds, that eight previously Obama SDs expressed that, given the opportunity, they would vote for Hillary at the convention. I heard about an interview Will Bower of PUMA did recently, where he said delegates are starting to say they'll vote for Hillary in Denver if the DNC did the right thing and ran an open and fair convention. That means a roll call vote with Hillary's name put into nomination, and on the ballot.

So I shot an email to Bower to ask him where he got that info from, and here's what he sent me regarding the efforts of a friend of his

"A large phone banking effort to the super d's combined with Obama's flips and poor presumptive nominee performance, etc have yielded doubts within the super delegates, enough that 3 elected and 5 DNC members have confided that should they have the opportunity to do so, they will vote for Hillary." Maybe this is why BHO and the Toxic Trio are pushing so hard to keep Hillary off the roll call ballot eh? I've been wondering what they're so afraid of now it looks like we have part of the answer.

Alegre :: Breaking: Eight Supers Switching to Hillary I think Politico may have stumbled upon one or two reasons why the Supers are starting to take a fresh look at Hillary. The above news paints this article in a whole new light for me. MassLib touched upon all this in an earlier diary today re BHO being a PUMA but I thought this was worth another rant. The folks on the Hill (aka Super delegates) are getting pissed at BHO for the lack of effort on his part when it comes to fundraising, coordination and support theyre getting in their own bid for re-election etc. Todays Politico has the story

Re: Hillary.

It's awful quite out there folks. Her big kiss-kiss event with THE Muslim in Unity, NH is the last we've heard from her.

A Google news search on Hillary shows, comparatively, little. Except that now there's some noise about Hillary running better against McCain.

Even Bill has gone to ground. A couple of articles about his speech ("We are becoming more and more divided.") to the Govs conference but that's about it.

Way too quiet out there.

I don’t know that that would be the case.

Methinks she’d like as much official distance from Obamessiah as possible. She’s just playing to the crowd now to save face.

I have been telling everyone for months, Obama is a plant, taking the heat, he will excuse himself or forced out before or at the convetion, allowing Hillary to be the nomony, it always was/is Hillary in 2008. McCain will bend over backward to help elect Hillary from there.

The only chance they have is Hillary as Pres, and B Hussien as VP.

Could be the plan from the git go.....deflect all negative press about Hillary by SUSPENDING her campaign.

Interesting.

LOL.....but....but..but... he is the the Messiah!

He also commands the black vote, which she needs.

Just my 2 cents.

My take is, he can’t win and she can’t win without him and NO democrat can win without that ticket.

Politics makes strange bed fellows.

I never thought New Yawkers would elect the Rodham rodent over her young opponent, over him walking over to seek her signature! Obamessiah out in the front of the fire for a few short months, followed by him blown out of the waqter, leaves the Rodham rodent with only a few short weeks to dodge. Don’t count on her lowness not being the nominee.

I don’t think the plan makes any sense. If she is able to take the nomination away from him at the convention, the Black vote for her will be so low. No democrat can win a presidential election without 90 percent Black vote. I believe in this circumstance, her Black vote would be 50 percent or less. This is a guaranteed loss for the democrats in November.

She doesn’t need the black vote. They can take a flying leap as far as she is concerned. She will play herself off as middle of the road like billy boy did. She will get the left wing vote and plenty of the right....If she runs McCain is toast.

Except that now there's some noise about Hillary running better against McCain.

I don't worry about that since if Obama gets shafted from the nomination, a huge percentage of blacks will sit this one out. Hillary can not win without the usual 90% black turnout.

If Hillary got nominated, I bet she would have Obama as her running mate. That would be terrible.
At this point I think it’s better to have Obama as the nominee, I think he can be beat. I have serious doubts about Hillary, especially with Obama as the #2.

So how many have to switch before Hillary wins the nomination?

Frankly, I think the Donks are waking up to the fact that Bambi is going to be an electoral train wreck in the Fall. The question is, are they willing to do anything about it?

Unless of course SHE doesn’t take it from him... Maybe a scandal.. or something else forces him out... Then she steps in.. and there’s no anger toward her.

So you're talking about a Torricelli Switch, with Bambi dropping out in late September, leaving Hillary with a sprint to the finish.

That would be a winning strategy for the Donks, I have to admit it. Lautenberg won his race for NJ Senate, and he had been dead four years!
