Only a total ditz would say something as stupid as “I’m trying to save the planet.” That is too funny. Who the hell does she think she is? She needs to stick with the milder, “I want to make the world a better place.” What a buffoon.

When Stephanopoulos should Nancy Pelosi her own words stating “bills should generally come to the floor under a procedure that allows open, full, and fair debate consisting of a full amendment process that grants the Minority the right to offer its alternatives,” and then asked why Republicans couldn’t have a vote on opening up offshore drilling, her answer was “they-th-th-eh-eh-ev-they they’ll have to use their imaginations as to how they can get a vote, and they may get a vote.”

So in other words, Nancy says Republicans are going to have to outsmart her to get a vote. That shouldn’t be too difficult to do.

Stephonopoulos asked her the question (why not permit a straight up or down vote) 10 times in that clip. The 10th time, she answers. This should be a lesson to all of us to persist in our own endeavors. Anyway, the 10th time, she said, “Because the President won’t allow any of these other things to go forward.” I didn’t watch CBS this morning, but I hope that Steph then asked her what the point was of this exercise if, when they get back, the President still won’t allow these things to go forward and, more than likely, they’ll have to vote straight up or down on the issue anyway.

I think she's transparent in her tip-of-the-tongue explanation that she considers her actions "parliamentary options at her disposal" and that she believes she needs to use such undemocratic, strongman tactics to ram through her preferences against the hand being played by "oilmen", Bush and Cheney.

If this hag's tactics bring her continued victories, our republic will hasten its undemocratic slide and conservatives' opposition options to fight back will be eroded wherever Dhimicrats can make it so. Nationalized industries and fascism will rise, to be ultimately defeated, but only at great sacrifice by our progeny.

May their 9% popularity turn into 2%.

That was one of the most PATHETIC interviews I have ever seen on a Sunday morning talk show. Let's hope she appears more often.

Let's see here, she wants to save the planet by NOT drilling ANWR--but wants to open the Strategic Petroleum Reserve? Say what?

The only thing more stupid than that---was her "USE IT OR LOSE IT" comment about the SPR? Again, say what? How do you 'lose it' by not using it? She must have got that cute saying from Jesse Jackson!!

What an absolutely PATHETIC interview. I know the democrats will do absolutely NOTHING that may bring oil prices down before the election--but do they have to be THAT blatant about it?

The real Nancy Pelosi — multi-millionaire, resort, dining and winery baroness who profits from non-union and illegal labor. Now she pushes more taxes on U.S. oil companies — not OPEC oil producers.

The multi-millionaire investors (including Nancy Pelosi) own a large stake in an exclusive resort hotel in Wine Country, the Napa Valley Auberge Du Soleil Resort. It has more than 250 employees. But none of them are in a union, according to Peter Schweizer, author of “Do As I Say, (Not As I Do)

Pelosi is also partners in a restaurant chain called Piatti, which has 900 employees. The chain is – you might have guessed — a non-union shop. It is a very high-end restaurant group with locations in Carmel, Sonoma and Danville to name just a few.

******

I live about eight blocks from Nancy Pelosi in SF and a bit over a year ago, I was buying a sandwich at the corner market… I saw a large government SUV outside, and I saw this vaguely familiar person who looked like a cross between the Joker and my Congresswoman, followed closely by an assistant. I quickly realized that Nancy had recently had a rather severe face lift.
So if she did more recently have her eyes done, I’d be surprised. Because you could have gently set a quarter on that face and it still would have bounced ten feet up in the air.

— Wonkette

******

She has served on the executive committee of the Progressive Caucus, a socialist organization that, until 1999, was hosted by the Democratic Socialists Of America. They were asked to hide their connection after reviewing focus groups that show Americans still have negative feelings about Socialists. The Democrat leadership distanced themselves on paper to help the Democrats appear mainstream and elect Albert Gore.

In 2005 Pelosi voted against barring the issuance of driver’s licenses to illegal aliens and against a requirement that businesses use an electronic system to verify whether new hires have the legal right to work in the U.S.

Hypocrats have had the drive-bys in their back pockets for so long, that as time goes by, the average non-brain dead American sees just how disconnected these loons are from reality, while both they and the drive-bys don’t realize just how stupid and vacuous they look.

Trouble is, there are so many brain-dead loons that simply think politics is nothing but humming “hope and change” over and over again and then just blame others for their own idiocy. SO they really don’t HAVE to care.

I caught a small piece on Fox about a black guy saying how the poor black are poorer than the poor white (I guess he’s never even heard of West Virginia) and then the chick hosting Fox says we can’t even bring up Bill Cosby’s take on this (responsibility) which doesn’t count because HE’s rich.

Nancy Pelosi, who lists assets of up to $92 million held jointly with her businessman husband Paul. They include two vineyards, one valued between $5 million and $25 million and the other valued between $1 million and $5 million, and a stake in a restaurant chain worth as much as $25 million. They also own three pieces of prime San Francisco real estate—one being their personal dwelling in the posh Pacific Heights neighborhood—each valued at up to $5 million. Rounding out their real estate holdings are two mountain townhouses and a share in a resort, worth up to $11 million combined.

Pelosi is a supporter of equal rights for gays and lesbians and a woman’s right to choose (abortion). She has worked to increase funding for AIDS research, education, and environmental protection, and tried to block communist China from receiving “most favored nation” trading status. She favored background checks for people purchasing handguns, and lengthened prison sentences when guns are used to commit crimes. Her largest financial supporters have been the United Auto Workers and the Ernest & Julio Gallo Winery.

Pelosi is a multi-millionaire. Mostly on the strength of her husband’s portfolio of commercial real estate, the Pelosis’ net worth is at least $25M and may be as high at $92M — financial disclosure forms for federal officials report assets and liabilities in broad ranges, so the figure is difficult to pinpoint. The Pelosis own a small office building in San Francisco and another in the suburbs of Marin County, as well as millions of dollars in stock in Microsoft and AT&T, and a minority interest in Piatti Locali, a small chain of Italian restaurants in California.

Husband: Paul F. Pelosi (businessman, m. 1963, four daughters, one son)

Daughter: Nancy Corinne Pelosi (hotel executive)

Daughter: Christine Pelosi (former chief of staff for Rep John Tierney)

Daughter: Jacqueline Pelosi Kenneally (runs an art school for children)

Son: Paul Pelosi Jr. (President of San Francisco’s Commission on the Environment)

The Environmentalist

Paul Pelosi, Jr. (Nancy Pelosi's son)

His cousin is Gavin Newsom, the mayor of San Francisco. His father is Paul Pelosi, Sr., the investor, and his mother (you might have guessed) is Nancy Pelosi, the recently ascended speaker of the House. If the Pelosis are America's new political dynasty, then Paul Jr. is its rising prince.

president of San Francisco's Commission on the Environment, a position he was appointed to in 2003 by then mayor Willie Brown, Pelosi has been logging even more miles than he does in marathons. "If we think there's an environmental hazard that can be prevented, then we don't wait for that risk to emerge," he said recently over breakfast at a Greenwich Village café. "

http://tinyurl.com/5zaybd

So far the commission has succeeded in, among other initiatives, eliminating Styrofoam takeout containers in San Francisco and securing funding for an exploration into tidal-power turbines under the Golden Gate Bridge, which could one day provide as much as 6 percent of the city's energy. Pelosi would like to levy a fee on plastic grocery bags (17 cents per bag), a plan that seems likely to pass.

shortly after his mother became the first woman speaker, Paul Pelosi Jr., was hired by InfoUSA for $180,000 a year as its vice president for Strategic Planning. Pelosi also kept his other full-time day job as a mortgage loan officer for Countrywide Loans in California. And, unlike all of the other InfoUSA employees, he did not report to work at the company's headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska.

InfoUSA is the same company that has been cited by the New York Times for creating marketing lists that were used by con artists to fleece vulnerable elderly people.

******

Where’s the wealth gap? Try Congress

The Pelosis exercised a $1 million-$5 million option to purchase a home in San Francisco as their primary residence in 2007. Paul Pelosi reported nearly four dozen stock sales and purchases last year, sometimes involving sums of up to $1 million or more. The largest included buying $500,001-$1 million of Cisco Systems Inc. stock and $500,001-$1 million worth of New River Pharmaceuticals stock. He invested $1 million-$5 million in Apple Computer stock in January and, in October, sold some of it for $1 million-$5 million. He appeared to take a loss on a $1 million-$5 million investment in Sandisk Corp. stock, which he bought in October and sold in December for $500,000-$1 million.
