PDOP ^ | 09/06/2008 | Jarid Brown

It was inevitable that Barack Obama would receive a bounce from the Democratic National Convention, just as it was inevitable that John McCain would see a bounce from this weeks Republican Convention. Yet, what started out as a hopeful week for Obama, and perhaps the most challenging week of the year for John McCain, turned out unlike any pundit or reporter ever imagined.

On Sunday night, the McCain campaign ...

CBS polls aren’t worth s—t.

I’m waiting for Rasmussen Tracking Poll results on Monday. They will be the first results which show samples of three days polling after the convention fully wrapped up.

"Despite the most hyped convention and speech of all time, 80,000 attendees to his $5 million acceptance speech and a stage designed by Britney Spears' former stage director; Obama was disappointed when ratings were released..."

Anyone else see the humor of Britney Spears' former stage director building Obama's over the top Hollywood stage, given that McCain slammed Obama in an ad comparing Obama to Britney Spears?

What even funnier is that if you go back to the interview with the stage designer, he actually stated that stage was a greater challenge and more elaborate than any he had ever built.

I love the way Sarah Palin demolished the stage columns with her throw-away line about “styrofoam columns” being “returned to some lot somewhere”...

I laughed until I choked!

I have maintained that polls don't mean anything until after the conventions. Now the conventions have come and gone and polls will begin to take on more meaning. The candidates start out tied, but McCain/Palin clearly have the momentum. Watch for the 'rats to go down and dirty negative in a big way, and soon. They can feel it starting to slip away, and their totalitarian masters won't stand for it.

Victor Davis Hanson sums up the insanity, we are seeing from the Obama team and Obama mediots:

"If the post-Speech reaction of the talking heads at CNN, PBS and MSBNC, or the op-ed ravings of Gloria Steinem, Maureen Dowd, Eleanor Clift or Sally Quinn are any indication, the Secret Service better enlist the Alaskan National Guard for help ensuring the Alaskan Governor’s safety.

"A beautiful, confident, articulate, independent, accomplished—and conservative—woman apparently has enraged Team Obama, the mainstream media, and the entire American intelligentsia, as if they were collectively hit by a cruise missile aimed from Middle America.

When Palin talks about her present life it sounds as authentic as Biden’s showy populism came off as false. Enraged feminists are apparently the gatekeepers for less well-educated American women, who are supposed to have 0-1.5 children not 5! Their husbands must be professors, lawyers, CEOs, editors—not snowmobile champions, union members, oil workers, and fishermen—or, worse, all in one! And unlike a Pelosi, Quinn, or Clinton, Palin, God forbid, did not rely on a powerful, wealthy husband or father to energize her career. Worse still, she took no women’s studies class, never attended the Ivy League, and shoots moose. The danger is not just that Sarah Palin could win McCain the election, but she could expose the entire flimsy structure of doctrinaire liberalism as the hypocrisy—and chauvinism—it has become."

Missing from this great photo: Sarah’s son, who will be on active duty soon. Three of John McCain's sons, have have carried on the family military tradition, with Doug McCain serving as a Navy pilot, now out of the Navy, Jack McCain soon to graduate from the Naval Academy, and Jimmy McCain enlisting in the Marines at the age of 17. The latter returned home safely from his seven-month tour of duty in Iraq in February 2008

What is interesting is that Obama’s polling numbers spiked on Monday and Tuesday. What happened while polling was conducted over the Weekend, the media and left were nearly unchallenged in their attempt to destroy Palin. His bounce was from his convention it was 100% from Americans not taking the time to learn about Palin. Now they have been introduced and the push-back is just beginning.

If they are tied now, Johnny Mac and Sarah will be up in the polls by Tuesday.

As do I. Obama built his campaign around only his exceptional personal greatness - self-proclaimed and only documented in his two autobiographies, minus any examples - and his conviction that Saddam Hussein should still be in power in Iraq. Both ideas are worse than stupid.

I forced myself to stay up and watch the last two nights of the convention. The left and their media pundits are in disarray. They where so caught off guard. Info was provided as to what kind of person Obi from Nairobi really is, as well as his apparent lack of skills. And to thing this is the jerk that said his gang would bring a gun to the fight if a knife was produced. Let us hope millions of voters now have a little better idea as to why so many of us could never consider voting for the neighborhood organizer and his horse ass attacked dog.

"Oh, how a week can change things."

Isn't that the truth!

I had very low expectations for this convention.
However, when McCain announced Sarah as his running mate, the dynamics started to change.
She was my favorite, though I didn't dare think he might choose her.
I was ecstatic when he did!

I was so afraid that he would go all mavericky the other way, and choose Lieberman.

Then, Gustav threatened to make a mess of things.
Jindal, and even Nagin, came through with flying colors.

Everything was "up" from there!

Nice article, Jabrown.

Thanks for the ping, senor.
It's very good to "see" you. ;o)
