Northern Ireland environment minister Sammy Wilson is taking heat for saying environmentalists' views on global warming amount to a "hysterical psuedo-religion," the BBC reports.
"Resources should be used to adapt to the consequences of climate change, rather than King Canute-style vainly trying to stop it," Wilson said. The article states
Mr Wilson said he refused to "blindly accept" the need to make significant changes to the economy to stop climate change. And the very alarmists Wilson referred to are not happy."The tactic used by the "green gang" is to label anyone who dares disagree with their view of climate change as some kind of nutcase who denies scientific fact," he said.
The minister said he accepted climate change can occur, but does not believe the cause has been identified.
"Reasoned debate must replace the scaremongering of the green climate alarmists."
Wilson is "like a cigarette salesman denying that smoking causes cancer," said John Woods of Friends of the Earth.
Secular Religion: any secular worldview that has a (1) a concept of original sin - the root cause of mankinds problems, and (2) an ongoing battle with this sin, that (3) leads to either utopia or the end of the world.Environmentalism, Marxism, and Feminism are unquestionably religions.
Northern Ireland ping, y’all.
North Ireland, but not all of Great Britain. Yet.
A more realistic attitude, but not as realistic as Sarah’s.
Why would they go to the terorrist organization “Friends of the Earth” to get a quote?
Yeah. I know why, they’re blind to their obvious leftism.
