Why the Debates Don't Matter
Radarsite ^ | 28 Sep 08 | Roger W. Gardner

Posted on 09/28/2008 3:09:12 PM PDT by Roger W. Gardner

According to the latest (9/28) Rasmussen Poll, Barack Hussein Obama now enjoys a 57% approval rating among American voters. What does this mean? It means that those Friday night debates didn't change a thing. It means that no matter how poorly Barack Obama acquitted himself that night it makes no difference. That revealing "America is the greatest nation in the world, BUT..." statement doesn't matter. That embarrassing soldier's bracelet gaff doesn't matter. His recently exposed contemptuous betrayal of our courageous military in Iraq by his behind-the-scenes attempts to manipulate our troop withdrawals for his own selfish political agenda doesn't matter. Rezko doesn't matter. His undeniable twenty year relationship with Reverend "Goddamn America" Wright doesn't matter. His angry militant anti-white America wife's outrageous admission that for the first time in her lifetime she is "finally proud to be an American" doesn't matter. His suspicious ties to Islamists and Muslims don't matter.

Don't you see? None of it matters. He is as impervious to stain as OJ Simpson was impervious to justice.

There are no present or future revelations, no matter how powerful, no matter how damning, that will derail this speeding train. 57% of America approves. 57% of America has spoken, and they have said that nothing, absolutely nothing that we have uncovered, or may uncover in the future, makes a damn bit of difference to them. 57% of America will not be dissuaded from their choice. 57% of America approves. How does this make you feel? How does this make me feel? Outraged? Impotent? Resigned to failure and defeat?

I once had a friend who was determined to commit suicide. We loved this friend and we tried everything we could think of to dissuade them. But every argument we made fell on deaf ears. They were just determined. And nothing we could say, or nothing that we could think of saying, would make the slightest difference. And in the end, despite all of our well-intentioned efforts, despite all of our entreaties and all of those well-reasoned arguments, we lost the battle and we lost our friend. That's how I feel.

And don’t talk to me about my tone. Go to my blog http://radarsite.blogspot.com/ and check it out before you talk about my tone. No one has fought harder against Obama than myself. I can’t even remember how many articles I have written trying to expose this menace to our democratic nation. But to 57% of America none of this makes a damn bit of difference. Get off you high horse and try to understand what my message is here. No one on this site would be any happier to be wrong about all this than myself. But that does not change the basic argument of this posting.

BOth Obama and McCain enjoy high approval ratings. That is not to say that people who say those men are ok are going to vote for them.

I posted this on another thread, but it applies:

We are totally screwed....Half the population will eat this up without even asking a question. Frog meet hot water. ref Bail out

Your wrong, MOST of this countries population does not even know the difference between a Senator and a Congressman. Most would say "what bail out". Thats Why the demoncrats can get away with this.

Most think Democrats are "for the people" and Republicans are for rich business men. Thats whats voting this garbage into office.

Why are folks criticizing this post? It’s exactly what I fear. We know plenty enough about Barack Obama that his favorability raing should be damaged. He has expressed racist ideas and associated closely with racists and marxists. He was dead wrong on the surge. He is a tax and spend liberal. He has an atrocious pro abortion/ pro infanticide record, he is totally unprepared to be president, and so on.

Yet he continues to be viewed favorably by most Americans. Enough Americans have been this numbed to leftism they are about to elect a marxist/socialist president.

But to 57% of America none of this makes a damn bit of difference.

But you're missing one key point. To not approve of Obama is racist. Some portion of those 57% lie to pollsters so that they won't be seen as racist. Let's see what really happens in the privacy of a voting booth.

I disagree-they do matter.
Debates are where the rubber meets the road.

McCain was right to scoff at Barry’s royal pronouncement that
he would sit down with Iran without pre-conditions.

Iran is complicit in the death of US soldiers in Iraq.
Their Islamic Revolutionary Guard Jersualem force is aiding and abetting militias that are employing made-in-Iran IEDs, rockets, munitions etc..

So Iran is our enemy. Like it or not.
In that light-its criminal to sit down with these maggots
while they are getting away with killing our boys.
CRIMINAL.

It shows that while Obama has a 57% approval rating, McCain’s is 55%. What is more depressing is that the Rassmussen poll shows Obama with 50% of the American voters and McCain with 44%.

Dismal.

Even if you assume he draws all the “minority” Votes (unlikely) that only amounts to about 30% of the voting population.

It's 57% of the people who answer the phone and talk to poll takers. That doesn't mean 57% of America supports Obama. The polls have been wrong on every election and I bet they are wrong on this one too.

You’re right. I thought about that before I posted this. Obama has 57% approval and McCain has 55% approval. But that still doesn’t address the issue of this posting, which is this — After all of the stunning revelations we have had about Obama’s lack of character, his shady dealings, his disreputable friends and his dubious background he still holds a 57% approval rating! How can this be? What has happened to our country?
I can’t believe the numbskulls who are attacking me here about this article. Did they even bother to read it?

To everyone here: Roger isn’t a troll. He’s an avid researcher and lives and breathes the security of our nation. When you are writing about these issues as intensely as he does every day, with never a day off, you feel confident about what you know.

Roger, here’s my opinion. We sometimes cannot save our friends, but sometimes we can.

I do think we have a great silent majority out here. I hope it is great enough.

I agree with you, and it is a fear. The fact that we cannot get pertinent information out of the Press means that our country has changed drastically, and it threatens our freedom.

What we know about Obama is astonishing, and yet...not a peep from the Press on most of it.

The polls at this time October 4, 2004 from CNN (not that I trust them):

“The poll showed Kerry and Bush tied at 49 percent each among likely voters interviewed. Among registered voters Bush had 49 percent and Kerry 47 percent. Independent candidate Ralph Nader was favored by 1 percent in each group.

The margin of error in each case was plus or minus 4 percentage points.

By contrast, Bush was ahead of Kerry among likely voters 52 percent to 44 percent in the Gallup poll conducted September 24-26.

Among registered voters in that poll, the spread was 53 percent for Bush and 42 percent for Kerry. Nader had 3 percent among each group.”

The polls on Sept. 24, 2000 Bush and Gore: tied neck and neck. Bush a 1% advantage.

Why are folks criticizing this post?

Simple. Like the subjects of Roger's post, they are too damn lazy to click on his site and check out his work, profile, as well as posting history on this site.

If he were liberal, I wouldn't have invited him to contribute at our site.

Most of them here, comprehend his article and don't crap themselves at every bit of bad news; they get it.

FWIW, Roger posted this at our site and the only ones attacking it are the liberals and former trolls.

"But every argument we made fell on deaf ears. They were just determined. And nothing we could say, or nothing that we could think of saying, would make the slightest difference."
