Innocent Glitches My [Kiester]

We are told that we should ignore the obvious voter registration fraud of ACORN because the Ohio Secretary of State says these registration discrepancies are likely nothing more than data entry errors. Yet she has fought every single effort to allow the county elections boards to have access to the BVM and Social Security databases so that they could make that determination themselves.

The question is why? Perhaps this explains it.

Glitches fill Ohio voter rolls

In Hamilton County, 17 people are registered to vote from riverfront addresses south of Mehring Way - places with street numbers that would put their homes somewhere in the Ohio River.

Another 46 voters are registered at addresses that would put their homes in the middle of the Paul Brown Stadium parking lot, or at the riverfront project known as The Banks - which hasn't been built.

Hmmm... so we have Aquatic voters and Back from the Future voters. Doesn't exactly sound like an innocent glitch in the system to me.

But is this limited to Cincinnati? Nope. Not in the least.

Thousands of voters appear on registration lists twice - some as many as six times. At least 589 registered voters - mostly in Franklin and Cuyahoga counties - were born in 1991 or later, which puts them under the legal voting age.

Voters are registered at post office boxes, office buildings with no residences, police stations and even park benches.

Thousands of voters. Thousands!

And yet the experts are concerned, but not really.

"It's definitely a concern. Obviously it should be fixed," said Nathan Cemenska, an election law expert at Ohio State University's Moritz College of Law. He said it's unlikely that inaccurate or fraudulent voter registrations could sway a national election.

Unlikely! May I point out the obvious fact that Bush won Ohio in 2004 by 118,000 votes. And Brunner admits that there are at least 200,000 registrations that are suspect.

Doesn't that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? We should trust Big Brother the Ohio Secretary of State because, you know, it isn't likely that these inconvenient discrepancies could sway an election. Have faith in a system that is admittedly broke.

In other words, relax and have another glass of Kool-Aid.

It's the unobvious voter fraud that worries me more. This stuff is 'way too obvious.

Hey, any folks out there from Vegas? It would be way cool if y’all get me a team picture signed by the Dallas Cowboys when they stop by to vote. Don’t worry, you don’t have to wait around for Mickey’s because my kids got his when we went to Disney. Thanks so much!

Well, maybe the way to motivate states to ensure the integrity of their voting process is to change the way their electoral votes are allocated in federal elections if they don’t require substantial identification from their voters. Such as, in federal elections, 50% of their electoral votes will go to each major party candidate, regardless of actual “votes”, manufactured or otherwise. After all, *most* red states require photo id to vote, and therefor make cheating exceedingly difficult. Many blue states are only blue because of fraud. If they were forced to either fix the fraud or share their EVs equally among candidates, I bet you’d see this crap stop in a big hurry.

It sure did in 1960 and things have gotten worse since then…much worse.

I’m right there with you. I strongly believe that a voter should be required by federal law to provide identification before voting. I don’t buy into the nonsense that this would lead to voter suppression. It’s an insane argument on the face of it. States that refuse to comply should receive ZERO electoral votes.
