Amero: Golden Conspiracy?
Nietzsche is Dead ^ | 27 Oct 08 | foutsc

Posted on 10/27/2008 11:56:25 AM PDT by foutsc

Is the Federal Government planning to demonetize the dollar and replace it with a new Mexican-Canadian-US currency known as the Amero?

Like all good conspiracies, this one is rooted in facts but quickly branches out into wild and wooly territory. Trying to cut through the tangle of information quickly overwhelmed me. Andrew E. Marshall has written an interesting piece on the issue. I noticed his website has articles by Pat Buchanan and America critic Howard Zinn. Odd combination.

There's also some guy named Hal Turner on a Spanish language Google video site flashing Ameros minted and sold by this website that he claims are made by the Denver Mint. The messages responding to his video are all from excited Latin Americans eager for the hated America's immediate downfall.

I don’t know who these people are, but it looks like they’re into gold and post-apocalyptic doomsday scenarios. Could they have some melanoma-related issues as well? I just don’t know…

Here is what I do know:

Businesses hate borders and the petty governments that guard them with their tangles of red tape. Commerce does not like currency exchanges; they are inefficient and act as a tax on trade. So it makes sense businesses would push for a common North American Union and a currency to go along with it.

Governments, believing they could maintain their sovereignty, could even see the benefits of such a scheme. This is especially true since government is infested with professionals plucked from the private sector.

What do I think?

I think this conspiracy stuff is cooked up by crafty devils who make money pitting groups against one another and selling gold to ignorant suckers. Yes, gold should be part of every investor’s portfolio, as the guy on the radio keeps reminding us…

… OK, so the US crashes and pandemonium ensues. How are you going to redeem your shares for the gold they represent? Your broker is face down in a pool of his own blood in some New York Skyscraper. Phones don't work and even FedEx ain't delivering. Looks like your portfolio could have used some reality... So let’s say you actually bought gold coin or bullion. How are you going to spend it? Where are you going to spend it? The neighborhood Safeway? No. It's been looted and bums are living there now. You will be carrying out ad-hoc transactions with scared people, predatory people…

I think we need to pay a little less attention to ball sports and Hollywood and a little more attention to current events and what our government is up to. The forces that move our economy and society are not mysterious, and everything is not a conspiracy. Don’t chalk up to malfeasance that which can be more easily explained by incompetence.

People with ideas make things happen. Sometimes these people have ulterior motives or bad ideas, or both. An educated, well-informed citizenry is the best defense against rotten ideas that violate our sovereignty. And don't forget to stock up on tinfoil...

Now here's a theory:

"..and may demand a common approach to all aspects of emergency management. Recent experience with hurricanes, ice storms, industrial accidents and the like demonstrate our interdependencies, as well as the need for coordination and mutual assistance in protecting and safekeeping our populations. Moving forward we will: Develop a common approach to critical infrastructure protection, MONEY and response to cross border terrorist incidents RIOTS and natural disasters, across a number of different sectors including, but not limited to, transportation, energy, and telecommunications BANKING . Develop and implement joint plans for cooperation for incident response, as well as conduct coordinated training and exercises in emergency response." There are plans in place."

Watch for it.

OK. I'll make it simple: Hal whatshisname is a kook who has a theory that hidden powers are conspiring to demonitize the dollar and replace it with the Amero. He holds one up and says it was made at the Denver mint, when it was actually made by a company that sells them openly. Cue the Twilight Zone music.

You missed my point anyway. Real people with real schemes do real things to make real events happen. Conspiracies exist, but everything is not a conspiracy. We The People need to pay attention to real events. Trafficking in this nonsense is futile.

Trafficking in this nonsense is futile.

So you're saying all this talk of a North American Union, the amero, the Free Trade Area of the Americas, and all that is nonsense?

You’ve obviously not read my entire post. Did you read the part about the Mexican truckers? All of these things you mention are solutions big business and a government full of big business people would logically latch on to. They’ve discussed it publicly.

It is up to citizens to be informed and then vote out anyone who supports such a thing.

Listening to kooks rant on about the US minting Ameros and sending them to China doesn’t really get us anywhere.

"All of these things you mention are solutions big business and a government full of big business people would logically latch on to. They’ve discussed it publicly."

Now we see that you are part of the problem. You are one of the "useful idiots" that Lennin spoke of. You condone subverting our Constitution and our national sovreignty, so you have chosen to align yourself with the conspirators, and help cover for them.

I hope you get to reap the benefits you so richly deserve.

"It is up to citizens to be informed and then vote out anyone who supports such a thing."

Hey, no need; they are "term-limited" out, in case you have forgotten about that. No more Clinton, no more Bush, and just to inform you: they don't care about you.

OK. I clearly stated I am against all this stuff as a violation of our sovereignty.

Calling them conspiracies and pointing out people you think are “in on it” only harms the cause of actually fighting these things. If you are going to fight something you must first understand what you are fighting against. We’re not chasing ghosts here; we’re opposing real people with real ideas.

Senators and congressmen are not term limited out, and that is where the real damage takes place.

My only conclusion is you are an unstable fan of nut-ball conspiracies. Your accusations against me don’t even make sense.

I say vote the people out who support these things and you call me a useful idiot.

I say it’s time to stop the hero worship of politicians and you say they don’t care about me. Amen! I agree! They only care about themselves.

Your post is nonsensical. Try again when you’re back on your meds.

"OK. I clearly stated I am against all this stuff as a violation of our sovereignty."

You are the one who posts nonsensically:

"What do I think?

I think this conspiracy stuff is cooked up by crafty devils who make money pitting groups against one another.."

"I think we need to pay...a little more attention to what our government is up to...everything is not a conspiracy."

You have made two conflicting statements right there.

"Don’t chalk up to malfeasance that which can be more easily explained by incompetence."

I gather from that statement that you think our government is simply making "mistakes" instead of intentionally setting up any of these extra-national organizations.

Each and every time.

Time after time.

Multiple times.

Never any "accidental" improvements to our national sovreignty or national security, or our economy, not once, not EVER.

Just one mistake after another, but always in favor of building a supra-national government.

Quite "accidentally", in your opinion.

The smartest individuals in our country making mistake upon mistake, and never attempting to correct any of them.

"People with ideas make things happen. Sometimes these people have ulterior motives or bad ideas, or both. An educated, well-informed citizenry is the best defense against rotten ideas that violate our sovereignty."

Then this statement appears to acknowledge the possibility of conspiracy, BUT THEN...

"And don't forget to stock up on tinfoil..."

You attempt to deny any conspiracy.

Talk about difficult to follow; that's your post, with all the double-talk, back-tracking, and changing your mind right in the middle of it all.

The conspirators LOOOOVE your running interference for them.

But they still will not consider you a valuable member of their team. HAHAHAHA!

You obviously have too much time on your hands and I am obviously in over my head when I talk about conspiracies...

So you do your thing and I’ll do mine. Outraged citizens communicating to their congressmen stopped amnesty for illegals and the Dubai ports deal. People wearing tinfoil hats and chasing illuminati ghosts have little influence on society.

"People wearing tinfoil hats and chasing illuminati ghosts have little influence on society."

I never said anything at all about the Illuminati.

FYI: They have not been an influence for a loooong time, so why are you still thinking of them?

I am talking of current events, not ancient history.

You go ahead and hide your head in the sand, and when you come out again, I hope you will still recognize this country, because I guess it will be substantially different.

No thanks to you.

It is important to know your friends and know your enemies. You want to be sure you’re fighting the right people. Lashing out indiscriminately causes more harm than good.

"Lashing out indiscriminately.."

Far be it from me to lash out indiscriminately.

I know EXACTLY who is to blame.

You can get their names any time you want.

So where did I lash out indiscriminately?

You can get their names any time you want.

So we agree on something! My point is that people like that guy on the internet video don't help the fight. Ameros to China or whatever his point is doesn't help anything. Pointing the finger at the Bush Administration Transportation Department does. And explaining why businesses would want open borders and one currency helps us all form intelligent arguments against it. And politicians do listen: I pointed out previously the examples of the Dubai port deal and amnesty for illegals.
