With resignation I watch Barack Obama assemble his leadership team. He won. He gets to do the fun stuff.
What is more irksome this time around is that Republicans passed on a winner to pick a guy who had so many clear deficits. I wanted Fred Thompson. This is why:

I had wanted to vote for Fred but he already dropped out by the time the primary rolled around in my state.
Fred let us DOWN. There was NO ENERGY. It’s a shame.

As opposed to all that “energy” from McCain, or all that “energy” from the hair guy that finished 4th in SC. You know, just because the left wing media has a Mantra, doesn't mean you have to buy in to it.

I like Fred too but, his campaign laid down to take a nap on the couch and never woke up.

Fred was still on the ballot here in Alabama, even after he dropped out, so the wife and I voted for him anyway. Gimme Thompson/Palin in '12, and Palin/Jindal in '16, and it's a deal.

Many of us wanted Fred - sadly, Fred didn’t want us.
It seems to me, and I could be wrong, that as a nation we are experiencing a mass, widespread burnout - in all areas of our lives; political, personal, financial and spiritual.
For decades, we have been on a hell bender - consuming, complaining, cussing, confusing and compartmentalizing - even as young men & women dutifully suited up and went to war on our behalf. We are just not good at having so much creature comfort while others sacrifice...
Perhaps this next four years of socialist domination in our lives will test us - as a nation we are inclined to improve when tested.
Pray and pray again.

The dollar is up, Gold isn’t moving, home sales are tight. This new money is being doled out with 1985 standards. Good.

Fred let us DOWN. There was NO ENERGY. Its a shame. Only if you required to be entertained during the primary season.
Why is it that present day politicians need to WOW us with their energy and attitude? When did we stop litening to what people say and base our opinion of them on what we perceive as their 'attitude' or 'energy'?
Lord, help us.

I agree. He clearly was the best in the debates, especially the last two. I find it so disheartening that freepers have fallen for the MSM tricks- wanting style over substance, and the whole ‘can’t vote for Palin because of her MSM image’ crap.
