Yes, I know you guys and gals don't like vanities, but I need advice, and I don't who else to ask. Anyway, does anyone here subscribe to Human Events? How is it different from the online version? Is a subscription worth it? Which one is better: Human Events, National Review, or American Spectator? Those are the only ones I know.
Human Events was Ronald Reagan’s favorite magazine.
Washington Time = Washington Times
I'm not that fond of Human Events.
How could you?
Human Events and National Review are both great.
I take National Review. I rarely disagree with their content. Pretty much conservative across the board.
They do have a pro-legalization thing about pot. I agree, but it is not the socially conservative position.
The WSJ Editorial Page is usually quite good. They are solidly conservative, excepting immigration, where they are worse than horrible, they are intellectually dishonest and they know it.
How about Rush’s newsletter? I don’t know about it, myself.
Townhall magazine is pretty good as well.
I keep renewing my Human Events subscription. They also send Coulter and Buchanan columns to me by e-mail, plus general Human Events updates and Nowak’s column. My only complaint about it is that by the time it arrives, news is pretty old, but there are always good articles, opinions, book reviews, and a review of political developments in Washington and the states.
I used to get the American Spectator and loved it, but it just took too much time to read it. There was some good, dry humor. I followed Byron York’s articles back then, before he went on to National Review.
I also subscribe to Wall Street Journal. Can’t live w/o the editorial page and in-depth reporting on various issues, not just economics.
How often do you get Human Events? Is it a daily thing or a weekly thing? I am currently subscribing to WSJ, but I get it every day, and I just can’t keep up with it.
Also, you said that you get Coulter and Buchanan columns through email. Does that mean that the columns are not in print print and it’s only an online thing? Is it like that for everything?
And thanks to all who replied!!
Human Events comes pretty much weekly, with exceptions at certain times of the year. The Coulter and Buchanan columns are also in print. I love the e-mail and read it right away, then I enjoy reading it again when the issue comes in the mail. There’s something different about paper and ink. You can choose what e-mail updates you get, if you give them your addy.
There’s a lot of content that is only in the print edition.
There is conservative movement news, too. It pleases me greatly to see what activity is going on. You’d never know from the RNC.
I can’t keep up with the WSJ either, LOL.
The weekly standard is another news magazine .
