UAW Union Bosses Abusing Positions for Pay
Publius' Forum ^ | 12/27/08 | Warner Todd Huston

TV News 4 in Detroit did an excellent expose on a few union bosses that routinely rip off the unions and the auto makers they work for with fake time cards and paid for but unworked overtime pay.

One of the bosses, Ron Seroka, a union job security officer, takes off half a day nearly everyday to go home to lounge around the house while he is on the clock. Seroka punches in at the plant at 6AM every single day and is home by 11:30 AM for some nice leisure time at home. Yet he gets a steady 10 hours pay every single day despite the fact that he is rarely at work.

Seroka's union boss is even worse. Union chairman Jim Modzelewski buys beer on a daily basis while on the clock and clocks himself in for overtime pay hours before he even wakes up to go into the plant. TV 4 found that after he punches in, he typically leaves for a beer run mere hours later. Again, all this is on a daily basis. He is also paid overtime pay on a daily basis as he sits home drinking his daily beer. With over 2,500 hours of overtime, Modzelewski made a six-figure salary last year. TV 4 also discovered that Modzelewski even played in a bowling tournament while on the clock -- as at overtime pay, too!

Perhaps the worst part of unionism is that they have successfully infiltrated govt. schools and the govt. as an employer. They die natural deaths elsewhere, crumble of their own weight, but not in govt.

Every company I have worked for if you faked a time card and were caught you were fired.

A friend was fired from an management position for signing off on time sheets that two of his workers faked their time on. He did not know and was not involved in the scam but he did fail to insure what he was signing was accurate. He had only been with the company (one of the major overnight shippers) and the position for a month.

I live in Michigan and remember a story where GM attempted to fire a man who was clocking in each day under TWO names with TWO time cards.

This scam went on for years. Once he was caught, GM fired him.

The union got his job reinstated within months.

An expose on unions?! What a rare story on something we all know takes place, yet is allowed due to liberal bias.

I saw this video on the internet about the union bosses. Yikes... our boss has a huge cow if we are late punching out by 5 minutes. Our crews run for that timeclock to get punched in and out at the correct time. It makes me sad that these two were so casual about stealing all that money from their employers.

I once discovered one of my employees was working for us while on the clock at Delphi. He was a janitor at Delphi making >$25/hour. He would clock in, leave, work a shift for us as a driver, and then return to Delphi to clock out. This had been going on for years. He was UAW and didn’t even fear for his job.

The Teamsters has been an organization of thugs for decades. Every couple of years, the pension fund would be suddenly discovered insolvent...broke. What a shock. Of course, the MAfioso types who ran the Teamsters had absolutely nothing to do with it! Just bad investments. They are a group of criminals in the dues business. Period.

This doesn’t surprise me. I know a woman who was way too “good” to work on the line. So the Union took her into their group of “office workers”. She’d work on the newletter 8 hrs a day and then go on the floor and pick up over time every day. used to tick me off.

There's the rub. These union thugs don't look at it like they are stealing, it's part of their bennies being UAW bosses. They think they are entitled too it.

Just think how many kneecaps they had to bust at 2:00 am to get to where they are. They earned it !!!

Just ONE of his jobs?

Seesh, a strong union would have gotten BOTH jobs back!

Autoworkers Union Keeps $6 Million Golf Course for Members at $33 Million Lakeside Retreat

Friday, December 26, 2008

The UAW, known more for its strikes than its slices, hosts seminars and junkets at the Walter and May Reuther Family Education Center in Onaway, Mich., which is nestled on “1,000 heavily forested acres” on Michigan’s Black Lake, according to its Web site.

But the Black Lake club and retreat, which are among the union’s biggest fixed assets, have lost $23 million in the past five years alone, a heavy albatross around the union’s neck as it tries to manage a multibillion-dollar pension plan crisis.

Critics call it a resort for union leaders that wastes money from union dues.
