Excuse Dr. Lowery, but just because I'm white doesn't mean I don't embrace what's right. (VANITY)

" we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around... when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right. That all those who do justice and love mercy say Amen. Say Amen’..."-Rev. Lowery at B.Hussein Obama's big day.

THIS INFURIATES ME! WHAT A SICK RACE BAITER. SHADES OF REV WRIGHT.

Judeo Christian ethics motivated those white people. In that sense, those white people “embraced right.” That was the point of my rant, and it is valid.

As has been pointed out often: the left is obsessed with group identity [race, sex, gender (for the nouns out there), etc.]

Yellow is mellow?!!

"They call me Mellow Yellow" was a Donovan song, circa 1968, the idea (false) was that banana peal when dried and smoked had hallucinogenic properties.

Nothing like using a prayer to rip a huge percentage of the USA.

If white is NOT embracing right, what are the heavily-black cities with black mayors embracing?

It’s pretty easy to go through his mother’s genealogy (which is incredibly detailed and extensive) to get back to his white slave ancestors.

Treasure the moment that a man that old managed to get up and speak.

Just like the dems treasured hearing from old Strom Thurmond and any of his friends.

...when white will embrace what is right.

A lot of us have. Rule of law, personal resposibility, judging on content of character, respect for life. We invite the "others" to join us.

I winced hearing Lowry’s rif but considered that it came from an old man who had been subjected to much brutality in an effort to achieve equality. It may have been difficult for him to be gracious. He should have been.

I think Rev. Lowery has a problem being gracious, period.

Lowery speaks 'truth to power' at King funeral ...""We know now there were no weapons of mass destruction over there. But Coretta knew and we knew that there are weapons of misdirection right down here. Millions without health insurance. Poverty abounds. For war, billions more, but no more for the poor." These were the words Reverend Joseph Lowery spoke at Coretta Scott King's funeral on Tuesday in Atlanta in front of an audience of 10,000 including President Bush and former Presidents Bush, Clinton, and Carter. Many have claimed the Reverend's comments were a dig at the Bush Administration. "......

Obama knew exactly what he would get when he had the Rev. Lowery give the benediction.

I understand your compassion, and it is admirable.

However, we’re not talking about a man who forgot to bring his wallet with him to the grocery store, or an old woman who couldn’t make it to the Walmart ladies room in time. We’re talking about a president who was responsible for assuring that this inauguration ceremony, and all who participated in it, embodied his principles, character, and his roadmap for our country. If old men should not be harassed because they are trapped in their horrific memories of segregation, then they should not be put out there on the dias to be targets. Our new president did not have the foresight or the balls to prevent this from happening. Or else, this prayer was proofed and allowed to be spoken as written. Either way, this makes Obama look like a piss-poor manager, or an uncaring race-baiter.

The opportunity had historic and grave connotations, and was not the place to giggle fondly over the dementia of a civil rights fossil.

The tone has been set.......we’re in for a bumpy ride.

Same here. I won’t be accepting the white guilt that we are about to be bashed with. Just keep it up, Hussein. You’re not even black, and possibly not even American. I don’t accept anything from you or your racist cohorts, and I’m not the only one. Just keep it up.

Make no mistake, Judeo-Christianity abolished slavery. That it was primarily white folks (and Latins, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian) that embraced it is beside the point.

Embrace of the Judeo-Christian ethic is the one thing that does, can, or will bind and bridge and transcend race and color. When one gives credit to "whites" for carrying out the Judeo-Christian ethic, that's crappy and untrue. Here in Southern California, many very valuable and conservative and wonderful Asian communities are Christian. Christianity works -- it's smart, it's productive, it's got a proven track record, and it has zero to do with race. It has everything to do with respecting the dignity of fellow people.

Really, what Dr. Lowery did was insult the dignity of everybody, and I can only imagine that many level-headed, thoughtful black folks are feeling it, and I feel it too.

I am deeply offended. This is outrageous. As a European-American, I dream of a world where I will be judged on the content of my character and not on the basis of my skin color.
As a southpaw, I might also be offended if he is admonishing me to be ambidextrious.

It’s not beside the point when Lowery made what amounted to an assertion that Whites — alone — need “embrace right.”

Code words for racial reparations. Hang onto your wallets.

OK, let's figure it. We have about 35 million black people in this country. Some of them are not descended from slaves, but let's not worry about that.,p. Give each black citizen alive today $20,000. That will come out to only $700 billion. Since we're printing money like crazy and giving it away to people who screwed up, let's give a pile it to the black folks, too. But they have to promise to STFU about racism after that.

Someone predicted some years ago that if we did that, the money would be misspent and gone in no time. Back into the economy.

This just might be more about getting even than what is good for America.

I firmly believe that it is. I believe that race and vengeance is the only agenda that Hussein deeply holds, backed by his wife hater Michelle. The rest was just to get elected. I believe that he only believes in "socialism" of a certain kind, that which redistributes the wealth of others to blacks. I believe that black liberation theology is the only deeply-held conviction he has. The rest is just rhetoric to get elected.
