It seems as though Barack Obama has not officially been sworn in as President of the United States due to TWO.. yes TWO... screwed up Oaths...
I don’t know, I watched the oath that he gave again last night, and it seemed to me that Barack’s interruption of Justice Roberts original recitation was what caused the whole mess in the first place. It really threw Roberts off, then Obama “forgot his lines” and what to say during the second part. Roberts may have moved the world “Faithfully” around a bit when he tried to feed Obama the second half of the second part of the oath, but I don’t think Roberts can really be blamed.
I think Obama had what you might call a “false start” — they should’ve just started completely over at that point, but I can see why they wouldn’t think of that at the time... Nerves and all, because I don’t care who you are being in front of literally MILLIONS if not Billions of people around the world on TV that’s going to make one nervous! :)
As for why they didn’t use a Bible this second time - why in the heck not? You can’t tell me there isn’t ONE Bible SOMEWHERE in the White House - or that they couldn’t have gotten one in a jiffy from the Library of Congress, or the Smithsonian or something! Heck, I’m sure the nearest Hotel probably has a Bible in the Nightstands! I guess it’s not REQUIRED that he place his hand on the Bible, but after the confusion and messing up the first time you would think they would’ve taken the time to make the “do-over” perfect.
While the oath deal will never get traction, I believe Roberts knew what he was doing. Obama just compounded the
Cluster**** by jumping the gun. It’s just sweet that the 2nd time was equally messed.
Obama’s been put on notice that doubts about his eligibility won’t go away. If the only result is that he must spend time thinking about this instead of concocting further socialist programs, then that’s just fine.
The fat lady hasn’t sung yet.
While there are truly a bunch of mental tards in congress,
members of the SC - past and present - are considered thinkers. I doubt that any nuances escape their attention.

we shoulda known, when the Illinois evening lottery of election night was ‘666’, that this was gonna be interesting..and now we have botched swearing-in ceremonies, too? - goodness gracious! too funny! somebody check the lottery numbers quick! lol
this story just won’t die.and it may have a not so good ending for the U.S.
Some civil unrest might be what it takes to open some eyes.
I’m not a fan of that approach but it would seem that the media will only cover Katrina events. So...

He couldn’t place his hand on a bible and take the oath without screwing it up some how.
Yes I know other presidents have taken the oath without swearing on a Bible, however this is Barack Hussein Obama we are talking about who made a great show of just how christian he is and how unmuslim he was.
Can anyone name those presidents that refused to take the oath with their hand on the bible?
And if she couldn’t serve, we’d have President Byrd.
And the really sad thing is, of those 4 people (Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Byrd), I actually think he’d be the best Presdident.
I think Obama messed up Roberts, but it wasn’t a big deal.
Roberts broke the oath into chunks that were too big for Obama. So when Obama tried to repeat, he stopped short of the first line (he actually spoke over the line a bit). When Roberts tried to correct for that, he messed up the words a bit. Obama still couldn’t get all the words right.
Obama looked nervous, and nervous people have trouble remembering more than 5-7 things. Roberts assumed that the guy about to be President could handle an entire sentence, but he couldn’t.
Interesting though that they did have to re-do the oath (not the first time, btw). Of course, no Bible is needed.

The link is dead now, people are saying it said no bible, I don’t think that matters. The hilarious do-over seems sufficient.
A Christian Bible is only appropriate when swearing in a Christian president.
maybe for the first time in history there is probably no bible the oval office... the koran, maybe, the many works of Noam Chomsky — fer sure...
so therefore — no bible present for the 2nd oath...
but no bible — (unless W left one) — I’d bet the farm on it.

I’d actually like to see someone stand up to unlimited judicial power today. But of course it depends on what issue. I’d like to see a President to keep terrorist in jail even if ordered to release him.
