Here is video of President Barack Obama's Weekly Address for today, January 31, 2009. He lays out the bad news about the U.S. Economy, including news that the economy shrank by 4% during the last quarter of 2008. Obama states in the address that the economic recovery will "take years -- not months." He makes the statement at the 1:57 mark of the video. . . . . . (watch video)

Bush pulled us out of a recession without yearly $2 trillion dollar budget deficits. I thought the first $700 billion was supposed to "save" the economy and now the Democrats just voted themselves another $888 billion.
This ain't gonna end purdy!
This boondoggle will set us back Decades. A tax holiday would get this economy moving overnight.

I imagine that if the RNC and Republicans work this to their advantage, Congress in 2010 will be full of new members, mostly Republicans.

If his policies go into effect, he’s right. It WILL take years to recover.
If Obama gets his way, it will continue to decline.
I do believe this downturn is going get VERY ugly. The people will not see the RAT plans for what they are and keep electing the RATS to "fix" the economy. It is a death spiral.
In short, the "fix" is negative feedback turning bad to worse.
Obama is right , Our Great Grandchildren will be paying the interest on this latest 800 billion dollar boondoggle to support Green laws and ACORN.
If there is anything left of us after Obama cuts the military by 10% and hands over sovereignty to the UN.

You could bring the economy into recovery in a matter of WEEKS if you will:
1. ELIMINATE the capital gains tax.If you do this, you can sit back and relax as foreign and domestic capital flood the U.S. economy like Lake Ponchartrain flooding New Orleans,2. ELIMINATE all corporate taxes.
3. ELIMINATE the inheritance tax.
4. Secure the ownership of private property in the U.S.A.
AND YOU CAN TAKE FULL CREDIT FOR RESTORING THE U.S. ECONOMY--
And the economies of the rest of the world as well, as the booming U.S. economy floods fresh life into the economies of the rest of the world!
THIS WILL ASSURE YOU RE-ELECTION IN 2012,

Furthermore, the income generated by the taxes that remain will be so massive as to enable you to institute many of the social programs that you have envisioned--i.e. as long as you keep the 4 reforms above intact and make them permanent.

Our economic problems were caused by government meddling and short-sightedness. The Federal government is not going to pull us out of them. And Obama should stop acting like a prophet of doom, it doesn’t help.
Fine - then everyone will be sick of Obama in 2012 and hopefully get rid of him.
He’s not that intelligent. It seems like he’s making it up as he goes along. If he did the things you suggested, I’d support him too. Unfortunately, he takes orders from his master, George Soros, not the majority of the American people. Soros has his own agenda for destroying capitalism and America.
As usual, he is just trying to cover his ass because his give away plan will not work. He is just making payback for his friends and to buy votes for his next run. Dang, this man is a real case! When they passed out brains he left the room.
I would love to hear someone ask Obama this question. “So Mr. President, Warren G. Harding pulled us out of the sharpest recession to that point in 1921 within months. Are you saying that President Harding is smarter than yourself?”
The DemonRATs have been fuming that their road to Socialism was blocked by Ronald Reagan. They have been chomping at the bit for the opportunity to continue down that road. This economic recession is their opportunity using the same playbook as FDR.
They are telling us to wait and hold our criticism so that their program has a chance to work. They know if we sit back and let them put their program in place, that there will be no way to change it once more millions are made dependent of government and eating out of the public trough.

Agree with you on the financial stuff, but as long as he promises to make FOCA the law, then history will record him right up there with Hitler for mass murdering innocents!! :-(
i think we all need to start phoning our congress critters or maybe the white house and ask them who do we send our mortgage bills to? can i just assign the debt over the 0bama directly? does he need to be present for that?
