MCCONNELL SAYS THE SENATE BILL COULD FAIL … ANYONE BUY THAT?

Senator McConnell

The Senate edition of President Obama's porktacular spending package, now dangling a $900 billion price tag, may be the proverbial "mugging" that some liberals need to get them to think more like conservatives - that is, if there is any truth to the reports that support for the bill is eroding a bit.

While I'd love to believe that there are, in fact, Senate Democrats who can't swallow the prodigious amount of wasteful spending in this bill, I remain, at best, cautious. Nonetheless, in the wake of the House bi-partisan vote against Obama's wasteland of pig meat and promises (188 Republicans and 11 Democrats said "no" last week, despite the bill's passage), there are signs that some Dems are not happy.

Republican Senator Mitch McConnell has gone as far to suggest that the bill could even go down to defeat.

I don't know if I buy that, but it's nice to say.

No, McClame will save it. They will just dangle a few billion here and a few billion there. The pirates are just wrangling over how to split the loot.

I am furious. An analyst on Fox news just now said that the tax decreases in the Porkulus Bill is $500 a person, $1000 a couple for only people that DO NOT PAY TAXES. Thats welfare. Any comments or refuting the claim.

..what will happen, like all bills that go through the procedure...all the frivolous things purposely put in the bill early on will be deleted (as expected)...the meaty part that no one ever sees, will suddenly and surprisingly appear after a so-called “tuff fight”.

If enough people learn about the details of the travesty, and put pressure on their senators...then yes, it could fail.

WRITE, FAX, OR EMAIL YOUR GOP SENATORS TODAY!

Otherwise, Obama will carry through with this huge step to "fundamentally change" America, just as he promised...starting with the dismantling of the free market.

GOP on notice:

IF you vote for this turkey, you will be held responsible for the results. We taxpayers will come after you in the next election.

IF this porkula bill does not deliver what Obama promises- YOU WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE.

So you better believe in it if you are prepared to risk voting for it. We the taxpayers will come for you at the next election.

If you fall for the arguments that the government has to “do something”, think of yourselves as holding a gas can and being begged by an arsonist to “do something” about the fire he started.

Podesta was on “Morning Joe” defending the bill and it was amazing to see him stammer and stutter as Joe, Cramer and even Mika ganged up on him.

it’s not even a tax decrease
it’s a one shot rebate

should boost business at Taco Bell for about 2 weeks

Actually what it amounts to is a cutting of taxes for people who are employed and paying into SS but pay no income tax.

Still a dumb idea though

Thats welfare. Any comments or refuting the claim.

...it's worst than that, what they plan to do is just that, plus declare general amnesty for illegals (or with 5 years here illegally, which they have no way of proving) to assure votes. We now have over 1/3 of the people who don't pay taxes, their objective is to get it to at least half, 50% who don't pay taxes, and what better way to do it?...let an instant 20 or 30 million dependents start collecting government checks

Leo Donofrio who spreadheaded two on the earliest birth cerificate cases at SCOTUS thinks McCain picked and ran to lose against Obama. Watching McCain, Graham and Crist plus other RINOs suck up to Obama makes me think something may be up. Romney probably would have been the pick until Crist saved McCain in the FL primary.

So far. What would it take to convince Comrade Juan to vote for it, a nice balogna sandwich? More restrictions on capitalist running dogs?

Do they plan to just deduct less from paychecks (to the tune of $500.00 each), do they plan to send out checks, or do they plan to have us wait until next year when we are preparing our 2009 taxes?

The first option (paying less taxes per pay period) would be only about $10.00 a week, number two (rebate check) may actually stimulate a little spending, one time only. Number 3 would do no good what so ever for at least a year.

What a crock! I hate this whole, thing, but truly how in the heck is $500.00 from SS/Medicare going to stimulate anything? I suppose an average middle class worker won't qualify anyway. It will probably be only for people making less that xxx amount a year.
