What is reddit.com
arkady

Anyone familiar with that website? I noticed I was getting some hits from that source, apparently someone submitted one of my articles there.

Yet, I am browsing some of the content and it appears to be almost the opposite of FR. Like, truly, opposite - it's like accidentallly stumbling into a bad neighborhood. Massive smears against GOP, Republicans, etc.

Just looking for some insight.

Opposite of FR?
There are many sites:
Digg.com, YouTube.com, Facebook.com...
They all flood their frontpages with anti-Republican stuff. The only reason is because, Conservatives are too detached from the internet to actually be involved in those sites too much to “change the numbers” in our favor.

I’ve noticed Digg has a slightly growing number of conservatives, but as for the rest... most of them are /b/tards and DailyKos/DUers.

I have videos on youtube.com and there is a great mix of both.

digg.com i sometimes use, but can’t seem to get much traction.

facebook has both, but remember facebook is a frontier of the youth. You know where the youth stands :)

Picture, news story and video posting site. Some of it isn’t family oriented.

They also skew young and uninformed. Or at least inexperienced with the real world away from their PCs.

Next time you need your PC fixed one of us will be sure to throw in another service that you “need” :p

Reddit is a site where you or anyone else can post a link to something they found on the internet or where they can ask a question (like on this forum). We do tend to be more liberal on many subjects, but there are plenty of sub-reddits which have more conservative subject matter if thats something you would like (you can turn off the other reddits).

It is interesting that you would say this. Do you care to elaborate or is that simply your opinion based solely off of the fact that most redditors disagree with your beliefs?

I would like to invite you to share your beliefs on reddit and allow us to share our beliefs with you. I think you will find that the majority of redditors are both well informed and possessing a plethora of life experiences.

Certainly we have users that are less mature, whether it is because of their age or simply because they are closed minded in regards to their political beliefs. But are you willing to tell me that the members of freerepublic never blindly follow beliefs that might be wrong?

Like ever community we have reasonable and unreasonable members, if we take the time to talk to one another instead of simply dismissing the other side as humours drival we might all learn something.

My brother regularly has me submit links to his comic “Geeks On Caffeine” to reddit.com, and the response from this forum’s readers is overwhelmingly negative.

It’s apparent the problem lies not with the comic itself. The art is excellent and he regularly receives positive remarks from the folks here at FR and through e-mail. No, the problem lies in the fact that the comic is conservative in subject matter and routinely exposes liberals for the frauds they are.

Conversely, comics that are voted up on reddit.com are chock full of sexual material, awash in profanity and skew heavily to liberal beliefs. The jokes thay laud are simplistic, boorish and can be classified as “toilet humor” better than 90% of the time.

While I have no demographics to validate the average reader of reddit.com’s age or political beliefs, it is clear to me through numerous exchanges that they lack maturity in their criticicsm and lack the ability to form cogent arguments.

I continue to submit to reddit.com because it’s a great outlet for exposing geeksoncaffeine.com, but have come to realize that those who are regulars are some of the most obnoxious, hyper-emotional, hateful and vapid people you will ever come across on the internet.

To all the Freeper Reddit Users here:

My apologies if you were insulted by my earlier comments. I've had few experiences with reddit and was going by the reputation that it was as overrun with young liberals as digg.com is.

And, yes, I find that most of those that disagree with me on issues on digg can't hold up their end of the conversation other than spewing back what some lib teacher fed them. I've had few intelligent rebuttals (but there have been a few).

I am completely humbled and put in my place. Listen, once you are done congratulating yourself for being right about everything, why not try to branch out a little bit and see if maybe your world view is just a little bit skewed.

You’re still here? Thought you would have left already to that land of impartiality where they discuss “scientific” socialism and youth in asia.
