American Recovery and Reinvestment Bill
Conservative Thoughts ^ | 2/13/2009 | John Kuethe

The stimulus bill has been released and is available to be read in all of its pork filled glory. What has been billed as a job creation and economic stimulus bill turns out to be a vehicle for pet projects of the politicians who will vote on it. The final version of the bill exceeds 1000 pages in length; are we to assume that all of the members of Congress have read this enormous bill and understand every provision of it so that they are able to vote intelligently on it? It is highly unlikely since it was posted late yesterday and is being rushed to vote today. . .

. . .It will be interesting to follow this process and see his take on it. At the end of the day, the Democrats and President Obama OWN this stimulus package. Therefore, as this ridiculous bill drives the Nation further into economic decline while paying for all the Democrat pork projects, it will open the door for a Republican resurgence in 2010.

I hope its not the same Republicans who spent us into oblivion during the Bush years.

I don’t want a Republican resurgence. I much prefer a CONSERVATIVE emergence.

“I hope its not the same Republicans who spent us into oblivion during the Bush years.”

I’ve not seen anybody else with my personal perspective on that matter you broach MTR. I could be mistaken, but I really think we could have those same Republicans sans the RINO’s of course, but with some leadership.

I personally blame the lack of leadership of Frist, and Hastert for the confusion and lack of direction, thus what appeared to me to be CYA Republican Congress we had in those years.

The Republicans appeared to me to be covering their behinds with spending on Pork for their consitituents, and looking to a misguided Executive Branch for leadership that Frist and Hastert capitulated I think to McCain and others whom weren’t the elected leadership.

In days of yore before the Socialists overwhelmed the Democrat Party there was the possibility of Bipartisanship, but in modern Congressional contests it’s a one way street.

There is no negotiating with those sorts, and hasn’t been now for quite awhile, yet the Repubs still insist upon “reaching across the aisle” as though it’s still a reasonable activity to negotiate with the bastards.

We need our representation to understand there is no “reaching across the aisle”. Anybody claims there is needs to have their head examined, and while out for that procedure be replaced on the front lines.

We need to talk and act tough, and above all be tough on the Socialist/Democrats anti Constitutional protection of our freedoms in their drive to expand Government beyond the parameters set by our Founding Fathers.

This bill today needs some tough talking during those allocated one minute speeches. The Socialists need to be put down, ridiculed, embarrassed for what they are trying to do.

None of this “Mr. Nice Guy” flowery language ie; “Honorable” this, “Gentleman” that. Just lay it on the line respectfully, but no holds barred, tell it like it is language that we aren’t going to allow THEM to steal our Freedoms from us and posterity.

Strong leadership is what was lacking, and apparently still is. Otherwise we would see a defined course by the Republicans.

Rambling rant off.

Valid point, I am hoping that the RNC under the guidance of Michael Steele will return to its conservative roots. Watching Obama claim all things Lincoln for himself made me want to puke.

If this doesn’t cure the RINO infestation, then nothing will.

The House hasapproved the stimulus package but no Republicans voted for it. Apparently the “moderates” don’t want their finger prints on this disaster. I am interested to see if the three RINOs; Collins, Spectre, and Snowe will stil pander to the Left and vote with the Democrats.
