APNewsBreak: Black pastors to ask Burris to resign

CHICAGO – A Chicago minister told The Associated Press he and other black pastors who previously supported U.S. Sen. Roland Burris now plan to ask him to resign. The minister spoke Thursday on condition of anonymity because a meeting with Burris hadn't yet been scheduled. Many of the city's black pastors supported seating Burris because of his scandal-free reputation — even though he was appointed by then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich after the governor was arrested. But revelations that Burris attempted to raise money for Blagojevich while seeking the Senate job have eroded some of his support. Blagojevich is accused of trying to sell the Senate appointment.

I kinda hope he stays in office. He’s such a dolt that he ought to be easy to beat in ‘10.

The real problem here is not that Burris may or may not have been complicit in shady dealings with regard to the appointment. The real problem is that Democrats see a REAL problem with this man being re-elected when the time comes. They are deathly afraid of letting even ONE Senate seat fall prey to Republicans. And, that my friends is the chink in their armor.

This has nothing to do Burris. Keep in mind these same types support criminals like Marion Barry, Kwame Kilpatrick, and Al Sharpton. This is only because they are afraid a republican can win this seat against a weak candidate. If reelection was assured, they would not be doing this and would instead be calling everyone racist for going against Burris.

I think that the Dems will talk big as if corruption bothers them. Then it will all go away, Burris will still be Senator and they’ll get back to the business of getting money to ACORN and other groups to maintain their power base. Remember who has spoken about this:

Harry Reid: who forgot to claim profits of the sale of nearly a million dollars of property or some such thing

Dick Durbin: from his Congressional junket in Greece.

Has Nancy Pelosi chimed in yet: she will if it helps drown out the Pope’s admonition to Catholic legislators to stand up for life.

The “One” before him should never have been there either...Give us a special election here and set us free!! Oops...I forgot, Acorn and the Machine would never let that happen.

You are right. He is a rat, a black rat at that, and so the expectation is that he is corrupt and stupid on top of that. So he gets a pass.
