Texas Senator Asks Obama for Help On Wild Mexican Border
Evil Conservative Online ^ | 05 March 09 | EC

In case you haven't noticed, the violence and mayhem along the Mexican border is spilling into the United States. Years of lackadaisical enforcement and a booming drug trade has spiraled the murder rate in what used to be a bucolically quiet region. Now south Texas is starting to look more and more like north Mexico... the highway in Brownsville was closed the other day because of a shootout.

Senator Cornyn sent this letter to Obama today, asking him to please enforce the borders. Fat chance, really... especially after Bush left it wide open after 9/11. Democrats probably love it... new Democrats streaming across the border every day. Cornyn should hope Obama doesn't send in the UN to police the area. You know that's coming soon.

All the Feds have to do is give the Texans a green light and we’ll take care of part of the problem, if not all of it. ;)

Well, John Can’t-give-a-straight-answer Cornyn should have thought about this when Bush was in office and he was waffling about on the Immigration Reform bill. He should also get Kay Baby lined up on this since she doens’t seem to be able to figure out that the illegals don’t vote...legally....yet.

Now he has about as much chance as a snowball in Hondo, Texas of getting Erkel to give any aid. Nope, Governor Good Hair is going to have to call out the National Guard or just issue hunting permits to the carry licensed citizens of Texas.

They should have also thought about this when they gave over a BILLION dollars to the law enforcement agencies of Mexico border states instead of struggling Texas County Sherriffs. Wonder where that money went? Do you think it might have bought some spiffy weapons for the Bandits?

Hell, Cornyn should hope Erkel doesn’t send the UN down to help them across!

That's all right. Those blue helmets will be easy to spot at long distance.

Bush gave Obama perfect cover for doing nothing.

Please feel free to add on...I’m getting ready to hit the hay....zzzzzzzzzzzz my heads starting to really hurt!!

The letter is a formality. Something is up in Austin.

This is essentially a letter asking for reinforceents sent with the knowledge that none will be forthcoming.

If I were a cartel guy, I would be very wary from here on out. We Texans are the last of the barbarians.

God Bless Texas!

"Could we be in any more dire times?"

I think about that question every day and waffle in my answers. I read about the Great Depression and think that we have so much in this country today that things simply can't be as bad as they seem ... and then I see what is taking place in society and where the country is headed and things could not possibly look more bleak.

Wouldn’t bother me if Texas went ahead and sealed it’s borders by itself. More power to ‘em I say. It would kill me to see them wind up like Commifornia.

Truth is we may not have authority to guard our national border, but our state border, that we can do. So can California, New Mexico, and Arizona.

And we seem to be in the same weather pattern as the great depression. Major drought? The irony is not lost on this blond either.

yes....Texas can take care of the problems...if only give the chance.

I have to tell you....I was stopped by the local police last night after dark, about 8:30pm...he said I turned into the wrong lane when I made my right turn. Once he got to the car window and could see I was an middle age white female he seemed almost apologetic for stopping me...looked at my insurance and driver's license and told me to have a good evening. My husband and I both agreed he was looking for illegals with no driver's lic or insurance. I think if it had been daylight to where he could see who was driving, he would not have stopped me. So here in Dallas they are looking and taking action.

Well this was actually in Irving...but...I have a friend on the DPD and he said, recently, policies are changing, slow but changing. And of course Irving has a history with illegals also. LULAC is suing the City of Irving for deporting too many illegals. They have a lot to deport and so does Dallas.

We can only hope public pressure will change the minds of those city councils.

We at least have an ICE officer at the County jail here in Austin.
