The failure to secure the border to prevent illegal drugs from entering into the United States from Mexico in the first place is inexusable. The Mexican drug cartels have established distribution networks and supply lines in at least 230 American cities, and the enforcement violence among the rival cells has been brutally incessant in Phoenix, Atlanta and Houston. The governors of Arizona and Texas have requested national guard troops to secure their borders only to be rebuffed by resident Barack Obama who "said that now is not the time to send troops":
"We've got a very big border with Mexico," Mr. Obama told a group of reporters in Washington. "I'm not interested in militarizing the border."
Isn't the primary job of the President to secure our national security?

They want the Feds to pick up the tab. The guv has to pay for a state call-up. If Federal expenditures are ever appropriate for anything, it oughta be for this.
Won’t quibb;e on that. Maybe the bail out money should all be directed to National Guard units ;)
