It worked in Nazi Germany.
What will stop HR 45? Will Congress defeat the bill? If they pass it, will the President veto the bill?
This bill should about do it!
It ain’t even gonna make it out of committee.
The NRA is more fight than even Democommies want.
...shall not be infringed...
SO, I hope you're right.
Strangely enough, there are still a bunch of Democrats who will vote against most anti-gun bills, ‘cause its that, or lose their seats. There’s enough, that, combined with ‘Pubbies, these bills don’t pass or even get out of committee.
Good....it’s rare we have the votes these days...to stop anything this administration wants.
“What will stop HR 45? Will Congress defeat the bill? If they pass it, will the President veto the bill?”
1. Fear. Either of their jobs or their lives.
2. Maybe. It depends if the zero can make them afraid of us having guns.
3. Are you kidding?
Repeating arms that is!
Let’s not waste the opportunity. We should let it get out of committee and keep it in the press until 2010.
Make the libs drink their own Kool-aide.
This will get the mushy middle back to reality.
I sure wish I could agree with you folks, but we have a law right now that forbids anyone guilty of committing a felony from ever owning a gun again in their lifetime. It matters not if it was an infraction involving violence or a gun. One felony and you can never again defend your family from home invasion.
If a person has kept their nose clean for decades, it would seem that they could be considered to be rehabilitated. You only serve about seven years on average for a murder, but fifty years later and you still won’t be forgiven for committing a felony somewhere along the line.
So, I’m not confident the courts will defend gun rights. They have shown very little proclivity to do so. Yes, there are some instances...
Might be a good technique, but I’d rather it never came up for consideration...
What is it you disagree about? All that you say is true but the 2nd Amendment still says what it says.
Let the Republicans pass it out of committee by stating that Obama promised not to take away people's guns and that the Democrats want to do that just that.
Better to shine the bright light of truth on their lies and fight it out than to continue to be manipulated and duped.
They've started their anti-gun mantra with lie after lie to try and manipulate this issue.
It is about control and nothing more. Better we show we have a king now, than to end up slaves later.
Plus a public defeat of Obama is necessary to slow down the pell mell race into economic destruction. The emperor has no clothes and without his media capons - Americans would know it. The French and Muslims do.
Yes it does say what it says. The problem is, judges think there are ‘reasonable’ gun control laws, and that’s a tough nut to crack. ‘Shall not be infringed’ is Greek to them. That’s all I am saying.
The assault weapons ban, local state, and municipal laws and ordinances whack away at gun rights all the time.
We were fortunate IMO, to get the W., D.C. ruling we did last year. States are still trying to do an end run on that though.
The Senate Bill 45 or whatever doesn’t prevent gun ownership. It merely makes folks who own them into public enemy number one, at the beck and call of the BATF or state agencies on a whim.
I doubt the court would object to that at all. Is that what our framers had in mind? Not hardly, but that’s what we face, and I’m not sure the court would step in to block this.
I wish like hell I could be confident that it would.
Can we really believe that we are being told to be more suspicious of each other as law-abiding Americans,....
It worked in Romania, it worked in Cuba, it works in Venzuela, it works in China.
You cannot have organs of internal security WITHOUT
internal enemies, if you don’t have any, you make them.
In our case, we have plenty of Islamics and illegal citizens
but for political reasons it is not expedient to deal with
THEM, so bring out the straw boogie man and make him a criminal to justify the existance of an internal security
apparatus.
We are seeing it built before our eyes.
We will feel the effect of it before the next election,
if there is one.
