McCain Criticized For Palin Snub
The Bulletin ^ | WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15, 2009 | JOE MURRAY

He mishandled her national rollout to the public, botched her relationship with the media and now supporters of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin are charging Sen. John McCain with snubbing his former running mate during an interview on NBC’s “Tonight Show With Jay Leno” Monday night.

Mr. McCain is coming under fire for his conspicuous memory lapse when listing the names of Republican governors who could be the next in line to challenge President Barack Obama in 2012. Mrs. Palin did not make the cut.

“We have, I’m happy to say, a lot of voices out there,” Mr. McCain told host Jay Leno before listing Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Utah Gov. Jim Huntsman, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, and Florida Gov. Charlie Crist. “There are a lot of governors out there who are young and dynamic.”

Recognizing his error, the Arizona senator added, “I’ve left out somebody’s name, and I’m going to hear about it.”

That somebody was Mrs. Palin.

By failing to mention Mrs. Palin’s name, some conservatives say Mr. McCain is fracturing a Republican Party that must start uniting now if it is going to topple Mr. Obama in 2012.

“McCain, who screwed up his campaign by not voting against the bailout, can’t mention Sarah’s name on Leno? It hurts the party and it makes him look bad by dissing her a third time,” one blogger wrote. “Maybe it’s a good thing he didn’t become president. His mushiness and fence sitting was quite disconcerting.

Instead making that snotty remark about "forgetting someone", McCain could simply have graciously added her name to his list. Instead, he was pandering to his host and audience at her expense.

He's despicable.

Quite honestly verifying why I will never vote for a faux conservative again.

I voted against obama, in fact Palin brought me to the polls........McCain should retire and wander off.........lets hope he takes Lugar with him.

I hope Palin shrugs this off. This is a non-story. Or, more accurately, it’s only a story insofar as it serves to foment discord between Republicans and Conservatives.

The only mistake Sarah Palin made during the last election was hooking herself to a looser like McCain.

Maybe but the flip side if it wasn’t for McCain choosing her to be his running mate then she wouldn’t have gotten the national exposure and most likely would still be a ‘Sarah who’............

OF COURSE.

WONDERMOUS PALIN IS A THREAT TO THE OLIGARCHY’S SATANIC GOALS.

STOOGE McChurian is not going to give her a crumb of benefit now that her usefulness to play the Evangelical Christian Conservative card is past.

I’ve seen two interviews where Mccain seem to have snub Palin. Refuses to back her 100%. Refuses to defend Palin from attacks from the media, EVEN after the election.

Only good thing Mccain could say about Palin is that she could attract a big crowd

mccain sure turned out to be a dud.

Most of us who really analyzed the race new that McNut was not going to win. We had hoped that Palin would carry this lame nut case. But McNut has an ego and he held Palin to narrow talking points instead of letting her attack the corrupt RAT machine. Then in the final moments his attack was lame.

Even in the last moments of the campaign, Romney was close but the attack on him hurt our chances. Even if Romney was nominated not sure that Palin would be his VP and without her Romney would not have made it. The King Obama machine was just too corrupt and powerful to let either one have a chance. In the end, we gave McNut as much as we Americans could, but he destroyed himself.

McChurian is headed for a much warmer cell than he ever experienced in Hanoi.

He seems to have no idea about the evil that’s been pulling his strings for so long.

What a disaster of a RINO.

Look at that list again and see who else he left out besides Gov. Palin. McCain failed to mention the name of Gov. Mark Sanford of SC. Now Sanford isn’t exactly Mister Excitement, but he’s more of a player than is Huntsman.

He also didn’t mention Gov. Barbour of MS. Though he isn’t as young as some of the other GOP governors, Barbour is a solid conservative who makes a lot of sense when he speaks.

It’s interesting to note that Gov. Palin spoke very kindly about McCain at the Right to Life event on Thursday night. She’s a class act, and I doubt very seriously if she pays much attention to this sort of thing. To us who support Palin, McCain and his daughter have become irksome, and annoying, but Palin has bigger fish to fry to let a minnow like McCain upset her.

Palin spoke very kindly about McCain at the Right to Life event on Thursday night.

In contrast to McCain, she called him "an American hero", he and his family a "class act" and said it was a "privilege of a lifetime" to run with him.

That's the difference between real class and and John McCain.

McCain's lapse was not realizing what a contender Palin would become.

McCain is a RINO. The GOP is RINO led. Why would anyone be surprised that McBipartisan would dis Palin? Heck, he and and his crowd fears her.

But more importantly, why would a conservative expect the GOP to run anything but RINO candidates? Oh sure, it’ll support a few conservatives to give it cover and lure conservatives to vote for RINO candidates to “keep a demrat out”. But there is really no difference between a RINO a demrat, is there? Disturbingly, from what I’m hearing on Free Republic, there are too many conservatives ready and willing to drink the kool aid-—again.

Isn’t it then more remarkable that he even chose her? For that one ‘lapse in judgment’ we should cut McCain some slack. After all hundreds of threads devoted to SP on FR would never have existed and the traffic on FR would probably be far less than it is now.

Reminds me of the Clinton-Gore freeze after Gore would not let Clinton campaign for him. He ended up blaming Clinton for the loss. lol. Thank God Gore did not win. The McCain-Palin freeze is a bit confusing though. I guess each blame each other for the loss.
