UPDATE by RAM: Notice that Alaska is right in range. Is it any wonder why the governor of Alaska is concerned about this? It sounds to me as if she's more concerned about it than the President of the United States; but then, Washington, DC and Chicago don't seem to be in range.

Because Sarah Palin has common sense she is concerned about North Korea. Her state has many military installations, and is much closer to N. Korea than the rest of America. Alaska could be a big target if the unthinkable ever happened.
Obama hopes to impress Kim Jung Il with speeches about how America is living up to our values and ideals now.
Because, with the money we save by scrapping our defenses we can pay NK and Iran to “be nice”. It’s a brilliant plan!
