Sarah Palin's Statement Regarding William Long (Recruiter who was murdered)
Sarah Pac ^ | 6/2/09 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 06/02/2009 7:28:44 AM PDT by rintense

"The stories of two very different lives with similar fates crossed through the media's hands yesterday - both equally important but one lacked the proper attention. The death of 67-year old George Tiller was unacceptable, but equally disgusting was another death that police believe was politically and religiously motivated as well.

William Long died yesterday. The 23-year old Army Recruiter was gunned down by a fanatic; another fellow soldier was wounded in the ambush. The soldiers had just completed their basic training and were talking to potential recruits, just as my son, Track, once did.

Whatever titles we give these murderers, both deserve our attention. Violence like that is no way to solve a political dispute nor a religious one. And the fanatics on all sides do great disservice when they confuse dissention with rage and death."

The only nationally known Republicans, who are not talk show hosts, exhibiting any leadership these days.

Sarah Palin
Liz Cheney
Dick Cheney

You are correct. I'll add that Sarah Palin is the only one talking about the need and importance of S.D.I.

The other “republicans” should be ashamed.

The other "republicans" have no shame and that is why they are so easily evasive and duplicitous.

Don’t forget Michelle Bachmann as part of our true conservative leadership of today!

Excellent point!

I’ll bet she even called Long’s family, after all she called Carrie Prejean even before her statement regarding that situation was released.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all. Among all the talked about 2012 nominees, Sarah is the one leading the way on the topics Americans care about. The only thing that would have made her statement better is to specifically challenge Obama to make a statement condemning this attack, just like he did the Tiller murder. But, we now know that Obama cares more for an abortion doctor than our military personnel. Whoever is advising him is a complete moron. You can guarantee that our brave soldiers will not let this go unnoticed.

Sorry - but the Tiller case has gotten far more attention that it should have - and has basically overshadowed this much larger story of domestic terrorism. I would definitely have mentioned the Tiller shooting. The shooting of the abortionist is being pinned on Conservatives/Christians where it does not belong. By specifically saying that his shooting, regardless of our feelings about the man (monster), was wrong.

This is brilliant. Every time an event occurs she seems to be putting out a statement about it. This puts her on the same level as the bozo, and it makes her almost a shadow President. I hope she continues as I see her in the coming Civil War being the leader of the United Free States of America. Which in a way she is already.

She already beat O with this statement, as well as many others. Who is the real leader?

We know who we can depend on for the true leadership. Still waiting for other real conservatives to join her. Till then the Republican party will remain near death and impotent.

If Sarah wants to impress all but her acolytes she should call a spade a spade.

Sarah's doing just fine.

I like what Palin is sayin, only problem is, she isn’t sayin it, she keeps issuing statements. That doesn’t seem right to me. It reinforces the image I have of her that she is all image. She can’t run for President and be President by issuing statements. Issuing statements reinforces the image that I have of her that she is all image. Hey, it might be great that she thinks like me, but so what, so do millions of others, does she have the ability to boldly advance her agenda, in her own words without statements? By the way, why is it ok for Palin to qualify that it is wrong to murder someone who kills babies, yet it’s not ok for Romney to claim that Sotomayor isn’t a racist? Both are wrong. It is ok for Palin to qualify and try to do a tap dance, but it’s not ok for Romney? I didn’t like it when Romney said that Sotomayor isn’t a racist, and I also didn’t like it that Palin said the murder of the baby killer was wrong. I know it is illegal, but was it wrong? It used to be illegal too at one time to help a slave escape, but was it ever “wrong.” I don’t know, I have a problem with it. Late term abortions are pretty disgusting, but I don’t know if it was correct either for Palin to be sayin it was wrong about the murder. I am not advocating murder, but I am not so sure it is right to be denouncing it either.

This isn’t a thread about Romney. And I didn’t see your boy make one statement about the Tiller murder or the murder of William Long.

What a ridiculous post. Palin is not a candidate for anything. And she fell short here.
