In the 6000+ years of man’s history, the “pinnacle moment” is the Abomination of Desolation, the key event that will occur in the midst of the Tribulation (a terrible seven-year period that will mark the end of this age). It will be the time when the Man of Lawlessness (i.e., The Anti-Christ) will break his covenant with Israel (Daniel 9:27) and establish himself as Almighty God (Daniel 11:36-37, 2 Thess. 2:2-4, Rev. 13:14-15). He will demand total, absolute allegiance and worship (Rev. 13:16-18).

Sounds like it’s right out of the news. Be afraid, be very afraid. It may be turned around if The Usurper’s agenda is stopped by his own arrogance. Even the dems are getting jittery about the fast track to socialism. I pray for a major setback (total defeat preferred) to the left in the 2010 elections. Now if only the GOP would wake up and smell the conservatism needed to win those elections!
I don’t think this is happening now or will happen any time soon. Only about half of the world’s population is completely insane and corrupt. There needs to be more for this scenario to take place. Not to mention at least 3 beings of supreme ability.
