Man, these guys (and girl) are screwed. I can truly feel the anger coming from conservative websites.

They might be screwed from National conservatives, but my question is “What do the people in their district think?” My worry is that the people in their district supported this and demanded that these congressman vote for it. We never consider this. It could be that the congressman had to vote the way his constituents demanded.

My rep, Mark Kirk voted for this. He plans to run for governor in 2010. Perhaps he voted for this thinking this will be defeated in the Senate. That way when he runs for governor he can appeal to the moderates. I don’t know.

He has lost my support.

I understand what you are saying, but are you just not voting for governor at all (if he in fact is the candidate)?

Dave Reichert from WA

Of course he did.

At this point, party affiliation doesn’t matter any more.

My letter to Michael Steele

Chairman Steele,

As a supporter of your chairmanship and a Republican, I can only hope you were as deeply disturbed as I was today, Congressman Boehner did his best to explain all of the logical and sound reasons that HR 2454 desperately needed to be defeated, but to no avail. Members of our own party, Congressmen/women Bono Mack, Castle, Kirk, Lance, LoBiondo, McHugh, Reichert and Smith failed us miserably.

I would tell you that I will not support the party until these poorly informed people are completely barred from all RNC campain funding or support of any kind, but I realize that would be phyrric, at best. Also, I believe that any great numbers of Republicans who take this approach are doomng us to failure. Ultimately, however, something must be done.

If I were to put my opinion of these Congresspeople into neghborhood terms, the screen on my laptop would melt. So, I’ll keep it clean. They are the dreggs of society. If the Statue of Liberty were a living woman, they would collectively steal her torch and sell it for scrap right after they sold their own children into servtitide. Their combined intellect couldn’t screw in a light bulb with a large print instruction manual, let alone read and comprehend a bill based on the flimsiest IPCC rhetoric. It’s hard for me to take my next breath with the knowledge that we cannot force them to wear the title of Democrat, the party they no doubt represented today. We are all dumber today as a result of having ever voted for a Republican, simply by virtue of them claiming the title. I can’t stand for their duplicity.

Please, on behalf of your country, find a way to convince each of these lost souls that their destiny is in another place and that they need to switch parties immediately. They are dead to me and many others, in every political sense. While I refuse to withhold support for good Republican candidates, I will give my money to whomever should oppose them. Look for me in the primaries, I promise I will give, if you can guarantee that not one dime will go to help these eight turncoats. If they do end up on the ballot, I would give serious consideration to donating thousands of dollars to the most liberal democrat, dishonest green, or craziest loon so long as these folks become fomer congresspeople.

Do not write me off.

Best

All of this spending is not going to be good - I never thought I’d see the day.

I’d bet within 2 years this will be... a horrific situation that we do not want to have to live through.

God help us; I pray I’m wrong and these people back off, but they seem like they think they can turn America over to the commies, but I think they are miscalculating.

Those Republicans that voted for this are not smart.

If all of this spending is not completely repealed, and very soon, I think we are in for an utter catastrophe.

Oh well, a word to the wise is sufficient.

The "Proverbial Word" works only when delivered to the wise. Our Federal Legislators seem to be anything but.
