I absolutely HATE the phrase "ordered liberty" that professor Cornell uses about the book. I often hear it coming from the Religious Right, but this is the 1st time I have heard anyone on the Left use the same phrase--& I find it even more offensive in this case.

My question is this: ordered by whom? The state, or individuals? In a free country, aren't we supposed to "order" ourselves, rather than have it done by bureaucrats & politicians who think they know better than we do on how to live our lives?

I actually know three Liberal Democrats who own guns.

When I point out their utter hypocrisy, they tell me that Pistols and Assault Weapons are the problem. Then I ask the obvious question that every Liberal cannot answer, WHAT IS an Assault Weapon?

To a man, their first description is an Automatic Weapon. Their ignorance only pales to their stupidity.

They also have no answer when I ask them if they could guarantee the safety of my family if they got their wish that guns are made illegal. I always remind them that murder is already illegal, yet thousands of people are murdered each and every year.

One of the things the “Professor” forgets is that when martial law is declared the “intellectual” class is one of the first to be rounded up - and not by the SA people. Since i will not live long enough to make it to a camp someone else will have to point hiss folly out to him in the small cell they share.
