Horwitz, executive director of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, and Anderson, a Washington, D.C. attorney, call their book Guns, Democracy and the Insurrectionist Idea. So, in addition to being demonized as “rightwing extremists” and militia whackos, now gun rights activists – people who stand in defense of their fundamental civil right to keep and bear arms that is protected by the Second Amendment – are “insurrectionists.”
Saul Cornell, a professor at Ohio State University and one of the nation’s leading gun control proponents, says this book “is an important first step in demonstrating how reasonable gun control is essential to the survival of democracy and ordered liberty.”
These guys simply cannot get over the fact that one year ago this Friday, the Supreme Court of the United States let the air out of a myth they had championed for years, and affirmed that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms that goes well beyond service in some militia.
When gun enthusiasts talk about Constitutional liberties guaranteed by the Second Amendment, they are referring to freedom in a general sense, but they also have something more specific in mind---freedom from government oppression.
Amazon.com offers
this description of the book, which reads like it was provided by the authors: “And when gun enthusiasts talk about Constitutional liberties guaranteed by the Second Amendment, they are referring to freedom in a general sense, but

Saul Cornell, a professor at Ohio State University and one of the nations leading gun control proponents, says this book is an important first step in demonstrating how reasonable gun control is essential to the survival of democracy and ordered liberty.Reasonable control of the Federal government is necessary for the survival of a republic and individual liberty. Proponents of gun control such as yourself implicitly presume that the Federal government reigns supreme over the people when it is, in fact, the exact opposite. We the people, or more precisely, we the people, via our individual States, voluntarily entered into the Federal union, and it follows that we the people can also voluntarily dissolve it.
Of course, such thinking is considered heretical by folks who favor stronger central government and who, in past lives, would probably have favored instituting a monarchy rather than a Republic in the early days of the United States.

Firearms rights activists are now 'insurrectionists' say anti-gunners We're in good company:

Firearms rights activist and insurrectionist George Washington

Firearms rights activist and insurrectionist Thomas Jefferson

Firearms rights activist and insurrectionist Nathan Hale

Firearms rights activist and insurrectionist Patrick Henry

Firearms rights activist and insurrectionist Charlton Heston
It's odd that supporting the Constitution of the United States of America makes us opponents of the occupant of our White House, but that is the choice that our Community Organizer has made. I'm proud to join that list!

It’s famously said at the time of the American Revolution that 1/3 of the people at the time were revolutionaries, 1/3 were loyalists (to the crown) and 1/3 didn’t care much either way. Not all that different from what we have right now. Furthermore, I think you can see much more clearly (with the benefit of present circumstances) that the founding fathers all had large brass ones, to do what they did.

Sounds like the excuse Hitler used to take the guns away from the victims of Auschwitz, Buchenwald, etc. death camps.

I “had” a friend who is a BIG TIME anti second amendment idiot. She said that if all guns were banned, the world would be a peaceful place. Well I TRIED to get through to her, but to no avail. Here’s basically what I said:
“So, all guns are banned, but the criminals have them because there is NO ban or law that they can’t find a way around. If someone breaks into your home while your husband and kids and grandchildren are there, what do you do if the criminal decides to do a little rape & murder?”
Her answer was: “I guess we’ll die”.
I’m telling you folks, there are some REALLY foolish folks out there!

"Ordered liberty"?
Liberty is never ordered: it is defended.
An "ordered" society is properly the outgrowth of a respect for the freedom for all, enshrined in law, above which no single person may be placed, and the rule of which is vouchsafed in representative government.
When people begin to talk of "order" as a value - they do not mean "organization" but control.
The enemies of Liberty are making their intentions known and her defenders would do well to pay heed.
