Democrats refusing to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance! In this case, though, the context actually improves the story. This takes place in Albany, where the New York state Senate remains locked in a power struggle in an evenly divided chamber. Rather than an insult to American patriotism, the Democrats here engaged in an insult to the intelligence of New Yorkers:

I don't say the Pledge of Allegiance. It was created by a socialist who wanted to condition people into believing the federal government is all powerful and that states who refused its power grabs had no right to secede. Pledge of Allegiance.

I watched this yesterday. obamanation’s failure to put his hand on his heart for the flag (until it became politically necessary), makes more sense now when I see it done as a matter of course (meanwhile giggling and laughing at their cleverness........ obviously, these NY thugs are much like the Chicago thugs... who do not feel like they are not a part of America so they are tearing down what we have always known and creating a third world country.....

The Bellemy salute is an interesting aside.

"an insult to the intelligence of New Yorkers"

Sorry, but if more New Yorkers HAD intelligence there wouldn't be so many Democratic legislators.

Naturally, they got rid of it double quick when Hitler came around. I prefer the American's Creed.

Not for me - “indivisible”, “Inseperable”, BS. Just a stylized forced Union oath.

I know it’s a little different, but our family got a LOT of stares from people at our recent town annual parade, when we stood for each and every one of the flags that went by (bands, cars, trucks, floats, horses, etc.) We stood for most of the three hour parade, because of the flags. Every time we did, others around us and across the street did the same. So many veterans marching in the parade smiled over at my children, as they carried their large flags with such pride. I told my children to watch their faces — that sometimes, that is the only thanks they ever get for the sacrifices they made.

Parents are not teaching and passing on the respect of standing when the flag passes by. We have already had a class in “flag etiquette” (I homeschool, so I make everything a teaching opportunity).

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all"

It was created by a socialist who wanted to condition people into believing the federal government is all powerful and that states who refused its power grabs had no right to secede.

Wow, you got ALL that from the above pledge?

There must be some serious between the line meaning I fail to see as well as 99.9 % of us

I am teaching an etiquette “Manners and More” camp for girls next week. Never though about it, but your post inspired me. I am adding “Flag Etiquette” to my curriculum! Thanks for the inspiration!

I read the link @ WIki (not the best source) and the worst I find is he had a cousin who was a socialist utopian (Edward Bellamy)and made some money off selling flags. I have a cousin who is flaming moonbat uber liberal, so I guess that makes me flaming moonbat uber liberal?

Please point me to the source where it is documented "It (Pledge) was created by a socialist who wanted to condition people into believing the federal government is all powerful and that states who refused its power grabs had no right to secede.

Sorry, I don't see it. My tin hat has gotten very dull and in need of a shine to believe this pablum

Two of the most populous states in our country (both solidly Blue) are fast becoming banana republics.

I mean New York and California.

Well, if you are correct about the socialist and his desire to condition people and so on, then I have to tell you that his evil plan was not quite successful.

I said the Pledge of Allegiance every day when I was in elementary and high school.

I do NOT believe the Federal Government is all powerful. In fact, I work hard to do what I can to rein in the power of the Federal Government.

First it says he was a Christian socialist with a socialist utopian cousin. Second, it can be inferred that, as a socialist he would like people to believe the central government is all powerful in order for his wealth redistributionist policies to work. Finally, aluminum works better.
