Hell yeah they should! Most all of their meetings and hearings could be done via video conferencing. They could even vote from home online.

Hell, they don’t read the dammed bills anyway...

Sure, why not let them telecommute, then they can ignore or approve of bills they have not read from the privacy of whoever is giving them favors at the moment.

I believe new rules should be set forth in Congress and the Senate. All bills must be read fully, and every single bill must have a yes or no vote, no more of this “present” BS.

They should just stay home and leave us alone. We’d be better off paying them to do nothing.

I have advocated this for years. Even suggested it only last week when I called my congressmans office about Cap & Trade.

The Texas Legislature meets very infrequently and we get along fine.

Reduce the size of Washington, move them away from the concentrated lobbyist, and put them near their constituents.

YES!!!!

Can you imagine how much operating cost would go down. This is what you call downsizing government.

No.

Congress should go home until we actually need them.

Personally, I’d eliminate their expense accounts, and change their retirement and medical plans to the same as those in private sector.

Yes, they should:

1. telecommute

2. be barred from stepping foot inside DC.

3. be barred from subscribing to any media from outside their district.

Congress should be restricted to meeting only three months out of the year.

The country would run much better then.

Oh Yeah! Can you imagine what life would be like if they actually had to face their constituents every day? They know they have spit in our faces and they fear us....as well they should.

Why bother?
America would be a better place if they just stayed home in silence for the next four years!

Anything that distracts them enough so they can’t get anything done isn’t a bad thing. I’d rather have the present frozen in time than have them keep running roughshod over the country. They are public enemy number one in my book.

NO. That would give Kennedy an excuse not to cast his vote in person.

One advantage to Congress telecommuting would be they would be living at home close to the voters that elected them and not as likely to be twisted by the cesspool of Washington politics.
