Wow! This is all over the Internet... what a story...
looks like I should have waited another 15 seconds to post this
I am proud of her and support her. She is a great American.
I believe she will assist others greatly in 2010, and will run herself in 2012...and she has my full support.
GO SARAH GO!

Sorry talkradio. I had not seen your post when I posted this 15 seconds later! Great minds run together, I guess!
OMG....you can actually understand her when she Talks....She could give the TOTUS Lessons !!!
Thank you Sarah, for giving me a speck of light on an otherwise dreary 4th..
You obviously didn’t listen to her speech.
You said — She is folding. Running from office not toward office. My view is she has had her 15 minutes.

Ummm..., not from what I heard on that video. She sounds like she’s handing things over to another “team member” to take things forward for Alaska, because of others trying to derail things. So, she’s not “retreating” but as she puts it, she is advancing in a different direction... :-)
I think she explains things pretty well...
Watch Out You Cowardly RINOS!!
This time around, YOU will pick YOUR running mate!
MSDNC is reporting she is leaving politics for good.
Here’s a link to the full transcript of her speech taken from the Alaska Gov. website.

I am very disappointed for the way Fox news covered this announcement. True that I am a Palin supporter, but Fox seemed to be closer to what I would expect from NBC.

Fox News management has questionable motives. All you have to do is listen to Bill O’Rielly to hear him echo it. It is one of the reasons I will not listen to O’Rielly anymore because of his Obama pandering.
Not hardly.
Hang on to your seat, she’s going to show everyone that she has figured out how to beat the traitorous bastards.
Quick, find a traitorous bastard and spread the good news.
“’Don’t explain; your friends don’t need it, and your enemies won’t believe you anyway.’””
Wise words from a wise woman. I hope she throws the GOP in the gutter where they belong. It’s way past time for new blood and a new party. The founders set up our 3 branches of government for BALANCE. THere is none with the 1/2 party GOP/DNC cabal.

Fox coverage has been very objective. Maybe your hearing aide needs adjustment. Or you just want to read into Fox something that isn’t there in order to slam them. Fox is about the only media friend on TV we’ve got. I’ve been listening to them constantly about the Palin resignation and they’ve been doing a good job. Some people like to slam Fox with great regularity, sort of how the Dems love to slam Palin regularly. Leave it alone.
...and I think they are going to be sorry. We have smelled the fear in them for a long time. Good on her!GO SARAH GO!

I hope she spends the next 3+ years ripping Obama’s every move.
Turn the tables on the Dems.
Greg Garret is a lib... he was disgusting, but even those that followed him were doing their best to turn this against Palin.
Today, fox sucked.

Were they quoting her, or were they guessing?
Wait a minute..., I wasn’t talking about Michael Jackson... I was talking about Sarah Palin... LOL...
The people on FR who are denigrating her for resigning, should walk in her shoes for a day, and see what she and her family have had to put up with this past year or more. One TV pundit said she sounded defensive. I didn't particularly see her that way, but even if she was, didn't she have a right to be defensive? I could never have been as gracious as she has been through all of this. I'm a female, but I'm not a lady, and I probably would have been arrested for decking the jerks who make snide comments about my family. A Fox reporter said that since the election, she has been very hard to get an interview with. Good!! She doesn't owe you a-holes a thing, especially not the way you treated her or her family in the press. You want an interview d*ckhead? Earn her respect to get that interview!!
Sarah, I wish you and your family a happy and successful life. If that includes your running for any other public office, I will support you fully. You are a lovely women, with an awesome family. God Bless you all, and thank you for being a true and patriotic American.

Funny on Fox last weekend, ALL WE HEARD ABOUT WAS JACKO 24/7 no one over there cared one twit about Cap & Trade!
I agree. I don't usually watch Fox News anymore. It comes on automatically when I turn my cable box on. I caught Greta's voice just prior to the TV picture coming on, then noticed she was talking about Sarah. Stuart Varney disappointed me with his pushing the idea that she resigned under pressure. I was surprised to hear Bill Kristol being positive. He usually hates everybody.
Just watchin FOX go on and on with phone call after phone call about the political death of Sarah Palin....geez enough already FOX!!!

Exactly — you are on top of it.....
The problem with Fox is that they put being ‘fair and balanced’ over the truth sometimes.
You call Stuart Varney's continually trying to get the people he was interviewing to say that she resigned because of the pressure she's been under as being objective?
Lanny Davis has never spoken a single word that wasn't a hyper-partisan negative attack. He can be very happily ignored.
Yeah, these people “just don’t get it”.... :-)
Lanny Davis???

Dunno when the Conservatives are going to learn that the country and the party would be better served if they would quit canabalizing themselves.
"Fair and Balanced" is a good marketing slogan but a bad journalistic ethic.
Being objective is the journalistic ethic that has worked over time and has been intentionally abandoned by the mainstream concubine media.
Objective means telling the observable truth. Fair and Balanced often means creating false equivalencies to appear "fair" which most often works to the liberal advantage as their arguments are weaker.
Fox TABLOID News?
“You call Stuart Varney’s continually trying to get the people he was interviewing to say that she resigned because of the pressure she’s been under as being objective?”
Yes, because she baically said as much herself, referencing all the lawsuits lodged against her, and the insults and jokes about her and her family. To deny this is to deny the obvious, and Varney was perfectly correct to discuss it as a distinct possibility. Charles Krauthammer just said as much. Sarah Palin said as much. Live with it, unless in your idol worship you can brook no objective commentary. Then you are as bad as the Obama worshippers.
P.S. On Stuart Varney’s program, Sarah Palin’s brother said the following (which was why Varney was talking about the resignation being because of pressures):
“Brother says pressure of baseless ethics complaints and relentless defense of her persona takes 80% of her time. Not fair to family.”
I totally disagree with you, FR-baby!!!
You may think it was fair for Varney to push the issue that she resigned because of the pressure, but I personally didn't like it. He insinuated that she was weak and running from it all, and to me it seemed like he was desperate to get someone to agree with him. I don't believe it's a reporter's job to try to put words in peoples' mouths, or force them to say something they don't want to say. He kept trying to do that by pushing people to come to a conclusion over why she resigned, and what her resignation meant. Is she a chicken? and if so, how could she possibly think of running for President if she folds under pressure? He deliberately ignored her words. She specifically stated that she couldn't allow the State, or its people, to continue to pay for fighting the unending ethics complaints, just so she could stay in office. She also didn't think it was fair to the people that she was unable to spend the time she felt she needed to properly carry out the duties of Governor. Rather them give them a part-time Governor, she chose to step-down. Yes, the ethics complaints played a part, but not in the manner Varney or others seem to think they did.

That was your subjective opinion as to what Varney was doing. I think he was being a typical agressive, try to make it interesting and get different points of view pundit. But the original poster to whom I directed my comment knocked all of Fox, not just Varney. And compared Fox to NBC. How ridiculous, and what a stretch. Our one outlet on TV that at least presents our point of view on a lot of their programs, unlike any of the other TV stations, and he had to slam them. Wait till we have no outlet at all, and then talk to me about it, if you can communicate by then if obama has his way.
Yes, it took time away from her being able to properly do her job. She said as much herself. And she probably spent a lot of time on it when she was away from the office. I don't believe she cracked under the pressure, an idea some like Varney would push. She'd already won against all the complaints, so why would she be running from the pressure? The problem is that there would be no end to the ethics complaints, and she'd never be able to attend to her daily duties while fighting them. They hired her to be a Governor and run the State, not to have to spend most of her time preparing a defense against frivolous complaints from low-lifes.
I rarely watch Fox News anymore since their coverage this past election cycle. About the only program I'll watch when I remember to turn it on is Glenn Beck. I'll briefly watch Megyn Kelly and Bill Hemmer when I turn the TV on in the morning, but the rest of their programming leaves a lot to be desired. I'd rather watch a bad movie.
To each their own. Ok, don’t support in any way the one media outlet that we at least have a voice on, Fox. Stay away, and pretty soon you’ll have no TV media outlet at all. But I won’t worry as you are one complaint out there in the wilderness. Fox cable News isn’t the most popular of the TV news outlets for no good reason, it is because at least the traditional conservative viewpoint is more than adequately represented on it. But you can’t seem to figure that out. Again, each to their own.

You say “to each their own,” and then you go on to lecture me about what news channel I need to watch, and then run the doom and gloom routine on what will happen if I don’t watch it. Thanks, but I’m a grown-up, and don’t need anyone telling me how to live my life. I don’t choose to watch any news channels, which so far is still MY OWN BUSINESS, and my RIGHT as an American citizen. I know what my conservative viewpoints are, and don’t have to depend on a news channel to voice them, or reinforce them for me.
“Thanks, but Im a grown-up”
Hmmmmm, whatever....
Yeah, whatever.
