Just Who and What are the Blue Dogs?

The MSM basically defines the Blue Dogs as conservative Democrats. As you might expect from the MSM, that is a very misleading definition. A better definition is this: Blue Dogs are Democrats who represent conservative leaning congressional districts. Blue Dogs talk conservative at home and vote liberal in DC.

It is true that the BDs are helping to shape legislation, some say by moderating it and watering it down BHO's aggressive domestic policy agenda. The BDs can and do withhold their votes until they get the concessions they want. They are currently hard at work feathering their own nests and making sure their districts get their share of the alloted pork. This is how sausage, I mean laws are made in Washington.

If the Blue Dogs really were conservatives, they would be teaming up with the Republican minority to block BHO's ruinous socialistic agenda. A Blue Dog doesn't wake up in the morning trying to figure out a way to stop BHO's reckless policies. A BD wakes up trying to figure out what's in it for me and how will it enhance my re-election prospects. Rinos act in much the same way.

There are really two wings of the Democrat Party: The Blue Dogs represent mostly rural and suburban districts. Many are from the South and Midwest and many can be found in Republican leaning states. These are basically Clinton Democrats. The other wing of the Democrat Party--let's call them Red Dogs--they represent the urban base and core of the Democrat party. They are often radical left and out and out socialists. They want much bigger government, income redistribution, higher taxes, and more government programs as well as affirmative action, gun control, abortion on demand, open borders and same sex marriage. These are the BHO Democrats. They often hail from urban one-party districts and are deeply entrenched and difficult to defeat.

AN OPPORTUNITY: Hint Hint to the RCCC: Our biggest chance for taking back the Congress rests with taking out and defeating the Blue Dog Democrats in next year's midterm elections. We have a better chance of doing this and stoppoing BHO's socialist agenda than we do of ever locating BHO's original birth certificate. There are currently 49 congressional districts that were carried by John McCain that have Democrat congressmen. Here is were you will find most of your two faced feather nesting Blue Dog Democrats. I say let's gather our shotguns and our own hunting dogs and drive these cotton picking varmints out of office next year. The Blue Dogs are in fact the low hanging fruit in next year's congressional elections.

There is one honest and straightfoward Democrat I am aware of in Congress. Vermont's junior Senator, Bernie Sanders, has the guts and courage to call himself what he really is: A socialist. Wish the rest of his sorry Party would follow suit. It would make politics a whole lot more honest and simple. Don't let the Blue Dogs fool you. If there is a "D" after their name you know what needs to be done.

Agreed. I just don’t think “socialism” is any thing besides saying that I believe in everthing that is “good” with communism just not those inevitable bad parts.

RINOs need to know they will get no support from Republican Party leadership. I still seethe thinking about the support Arlen Specter got from George Bush to stay in office only to have Specter stab him (and every other Conservative) in the back very shortly thereafter. The last straw was when he bolted the party altogether and gave the RATS a filibuster-proof Senate. The moral of the story is you can't trust RINOs or Blue Dogs.

Go after the Rinos in the primary season, then go after the Blue Dogs in the general election. The hunting season will start early next year.
