Talk Radio In Palin’s Future

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is quietly exploring the possibility of hosting her own talk radio show.

From Inside Radio

Alaska’s now former Governor is coy about her future political plans, but radio is at least one option she’s leaving on the table. While not exactly shopping the GOP’s 2008 vice presidential candidate, sources say Palin representatives have been quietly testing the waters to see how much interest radio syndicators have for her.

Why not have her sub for Rush on occasion?

I think for now, a weekly column and campaign for other republicans.

It's hard to tell what's true and what's not. If it's true, it's a fine idea if she has no desire to ever hold elected office again. If she does have political aspirations, it would be very difficult to do an "on the record" show everyday and not make some mistakes along the way. Every liberal group in the country would be monitoring, recording and transcribing every word she says, looking for something(s) to put in campaign commercials.

Sure, Stuart Smalley hosted a radio show, but everyone knows the same rules don't apply to liberals as apply to conservatives.

It would be a good move for Palin and she would capture a vast & wide audience, so much so that she would go head to head against Rush.

They’re talking about a little daily 3-minute bit if anything, more Reaganesque than Mike Savagesque.

"They’re talking about a little daily 3-minute bit if anything, more Reaganesque than Mike Savagesque."

I think that would be fine, and even a good idea. But, the article portrays something a little different, at least according to the following sentence.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is quietly exploring the possibility of hosting her own talk radio show.

A full-fledged, syndicated radio show would present the problems I mentioned.

Sarah would do great in a talk show format and I cannot imagine anything mistakes that she could possibly make, Sarah is too smart.

Unless and until Palin herself says she’s pursuing this, I don’t believe it.

I’ve had my fill of anonymous tipsters passing on bad information regarding Palin to last me a lifetime.

Exactly. It is because radio is not in Palin’s plans.

The liberals believe there is no such thing as a Conservative Movement. They believe there is only a Conservative Industry from ‘rich people’ like talk show hosts and Fox news.

Panicked at the thought that Palin might run for President or lead the anger that is fueling the Tea Parties to a 2010 bloodbat, liberals prefer to believe that Palin wants to go into talk radio for ‘the money’ of course.

It is clear to me, in my political analysis, that Palin has her eyes on the presidency. I knew this observing her first interviews in 2009. One of the things said was that she praised Obama for showing that someone who is black, OR FEMALE, or anyone else can become president.

All her moves show she is inching towards a presidential run.

I could have sworn that the original version of the story specified particularly that it would be short form—but you’re right, the story at least now doesn’t say that.

I have seen this rumor (and let's be honest, that's what it is, a rumor) written about in several different publication, newspapers and websites. Some have indicated, like this one, that she's shopping for a full-length radio talk show. Other, have indicated that's it's just a "Paul Harvey-esque" type of daily or weekly commentary.

Until Palin, or her people comment specifically, I'm going to assume it's just all wild speculation - but, most of what we do is to speculate about speculation, so why should this be any different?

I don’t like it. She should write a book about her life, issues, and the 2008 campaign instead and give speeches for conservative candidates/causes and donate to said candidates/causes through her PAC. If she wrote a book, it’d be #1 on the NY Times Bestseller List for how long, a year? That would drive the liberals crazy.

She seems to me like she is above doing a radio talk show and it would diminish her stature. No offense to Rush.

This rumor is just wishful thinking from the libtards.

I don’t buy it for a minute.

This story is an absolute LIE. Sarah Palin is not doing talk radio, that idea has never crossed her mind. I was listening to John Ziegler today who said he knows for a FACT that this story is complete bull crap. What this is is a media attempt to say that Sarah Palin is the next Rush Limbaugh. That is the way they want to brand her, so they find a bunch of leftist talk show hosts who say they don’t want her, well DUH, she never wanted to do it in the first place. Again, Sarah is proving everyone right..hey media WILL YA QUIT MAKING THINGS UP

No one is that smart [I don't generally critique grammar, but read your own post and you'll see what I mean]. We all make mistakes every day. The difference is that with obama they are erased from the media record to tell the "deeper truth" that The One will save Western Civilization for socialists, while with Sarah they will blend any slips she makes with convenient misquotes and impersonations to make her look silly.

Sarah would benefit from speaking on a broad range of issues regularly, and the country would benefit from having common sense leadership speak out in favor of freedom, but it will also leave a nasty trail to be abused by evil people in the media who want socialism to win by any means necessary.

Sarah is too telegenic to be on talk radio. She would do well in a Huckabee style tv show. In fact, Fox should dump Huckabee and put Sarah in his place.

Clearly, you are unaware of just how many gallons of Kool-Aid the most fanatical Sarah fans on FR have drunk.

Anyway, assuming she has the talent for hosting a show (which not everyone does), this would be a very useful position for her to be in. Keep serving as a spokesperson, rally conservatives and get them fired up. As others have said, though, probably not the best move for her if she's planning to seek another office.

I've had a sip or two of that Kool-Aid myself. Six months before McCain named her, I read her name on this site, did some research, and decided that she could easily be the next great conservative leader. Once I heard her speak a few times, I decided that she was already the best we have (I know, faint praise these days) and that she might become the best our country has ever had. Still, she's not perfect, and the hatred for her goes far beyond anything I've seen from liberals in their entire hateful history. She will make mistakes if she has an hour or multi-hour talk format, and it'll be used to portray her as a caricature of what liberals have nightmares about.
