Don’t tell me. The Northern Cross was replaced by the Northern Swastika.

Rome was among the first in the world to build a planetarium. Italy (and Mussolini) had already taken a planetarium as part of the 'compensation' for the damage Germany did to Italy in WW1 and opened the first Roman planetarium already in 1928. It is the most peculiar story, so much so that I feel compelled to tell, however little, that I know about this hidden treasure of planetarium history...
Heh... thanks decimon. An interesting, slightly off-topic ping. :')

What is the obsession that astronomical atheists have for Hitler? I remember watching Contact (by the atheist Carl Sagan) and in that aliens believe that Hitler is a good representation of humanity. Why not sent video of Reagan or any other figure of importance?

Cool story anyway though. It just bothers me that the astronomical community is full of people like that. Not to say *all* are that sort, I’m sure there are plenty of good Christian astronomers.
