The Death Of An American Hero; A Time To Reflect

Once again a family is separated by the broken system we call our national immigration policy. The family of US Border Patrol Agent Robert Wiley Rosas will no longer have their husband, father, son, or brother with them as he was senselessly murdered by illegal aliens crossing an unsecured border near San Diego, California. Agent Rosas (aged 30) leaves behind a wife and two young children. He had no choice about this separation. He was simply out doing the job that you and I hired him to do: That of defending the security of the borders of this nation. He was murdered for no other reason than he stood between crime and freedom.

Our immigration policy does not reflect the security, health or employment needs of our country. It is time we start coming together to fix this broken system. It is way too difficult for honest people to come to this country legally to make a better life and to contribute to our economy. At the same time, it is WAY too easy for other people to come here illegally for whatever reason they choose.

Obviously, the vast majority of illegal aliens are people who fall into the first category.

1- Militarize the Border Patrol along the lines of the Coast Guard. Build two or three military bases on our southern border to house and support them. ARM them properly and make sure they have full policing power. I would also make it illegal for the ACLU to sue them for any reason (but, that’s just me).

2-Build the fence, and make it a SECURE one. I don’t care if the line coming through the checkpoints is 8 days long, stop every car and make sure there are no illegals coming over.

3- Go after every business that hires illegals and add real jail time and serious fines for ANY who hire them.

4-Any illegal caught in the country is immediately- IMMEDIATELY- deported. Those in jail for crimes are sent packing as soon as they are released. Any crime that involves gang activity or drugs gets an added term. Any crime involving the use of a forged or stolen SS number or driver’s license should add another term to the jail time.

5- Immediately pass laws that do away with “chain immigration” and “anchor babies”

6-NO tax funded services to any illegal, including medical care (other than trauma), education, welfare, food stamps. NOTHING. Any illegal treated for trauma to be transported to a Mexican hospital as soon as he/she is stabilized. Any bills for their care are sent immediately to the Mexican government.

7- All monies sent by wire to private persons, or for the benefit of private persons, should be taxed at a minimum of 40%.

8- Illegals are NOT entitled to the civil liberties we enjoy here. They should be treated humanely, but we must need a law to keep the ACLU from benefitting the illegals at the cost of American citizens, since we can’t seem to keep this organization from bastardizing our Constitution.

9- No more government paperwork in Spanish or any OTHER foreign language, except for that given out by the INS for the purposes of becoming American citizens. No more “dual citizenship”. You either ARE, or you are NOT an American citizen.
