Here is video of CNN's Jean Meserve explaining how they mistook a Coast Guard Training Exercise on the Potomac River in Washington D.C. today, for a real live-fire incident.
Meserve explained they heard audio from the Coast Guard saying "10 rounds have been expended." There were boats on the river that appeared to be trying to evade the Coast Guard as well. Eventually, they got the word from the Coast Guard that it was a training exercise and no rounds had ever been fired.
With the exercise coming on September 11, it caused quite a stir for about half an hour this morning. . . . (VIDEO)

Doubtful, it was done at a lower level. Being retired military I understand proficiency training. I also know there are times you need to stand down and be vigilant. Even though this was a radio based exercise it could easily get blown out of proportion and it did. Any other time the press-room buffoons monitoring police scanners would of ignored this completely. CNN just went off the deep end in reporting this.
The White house was caught off Guard. Let's just wait and see who get tossed under the Bus...It won't be CNN.
I learned a long time ago to never trust the press, now you can see why.
Between this oddly timed exercise and the dumb flyover of NYC, the paranoid side of me is wondering if there isn’t a setup to change Americans from being naturally afraid of things like this to shrugging it off as another military exercise.
Like Obama is becoming the President who cried wolf and when we DO need to be aware and on guard, we won’t be.
Bush would have been outright skewered if something like this, or that ever so well considered Air Force One flyover of NYC, had happened on his watch.
And then there’s the little detail that nothing like this did happen on Bush’s watch, and he’s somehow supposed to be the dumb one.
Is that CNN headline for real? Al qaeda leader is dead or alive.
TEN rounds of 50 cal on the river would wake up everyone for a mile.
If they, the Muzzies, are gonna do it, it won't involve that kind of stuff. It'll be stuff that goes KaBoom in a Hiroshima kinda way.....
