A lot of lefty blogs are calling for a boycott of Rush Limbaugh after he indulged in blatant, ugly race baiting. I’m not joining that call, because I don’t believe boycotts are a good thing, in general. People like Rush Limbaugh should be allowed to say this kind of stuff; it makes it easier to see what they’re really advocating, and who really supports it.
I searched, and found not a single right wing blog denouncing this vile rant. As far as I can tell, nobody on the right seems to think there’s anything with this.
Since I’m being excommunicated from the ranks of the faithful anyway, I’ll come out and say it: this is absolutely disgusting. Where was Michael Steele? What the hell is wrong with the right?

They did report that last night as being racially motivated, but I just heard the news before your show started and the police chief over — I think he was a police chief, some law enforcement — there said that after further investigation of it would be not racially motivated. They knew that and so they just descended on the kid and beat him up. We’ve seen the videotape. What did the police chief investigate?
CALLER: He did not comment on anything other than he said more investigations shows that it was not racially motivated.

Sweden Slashes Income Taxes to Promote Job Growth

We noted here that the United States has the most progressive income tax system in the developed world. That’s right—embarrassingly enough, more progressive than Sweden’s.
Actually, a generation of economic stagnation has taught the Swedes a lesson. They’ve learned that government does not produce wealth, and if they want more people to work, jobs have to pay better, after taxes. Sweden is therefore in the midst of a series of tax cuts aimed at preserving the long-term viability of its economy. Today’s headline: “Sweden slashes income tax further to boost jobs.”
It’s an interesting comparison: Sweden experimented with the nanny state, learned that it was devastating to the economic and moral health of its people, and is moving back toward individualism. Here in the U.S., we had the world’s most dynamic economy, and the lesson we took away from that—some of us, anyway—was that we were doing something wrong and needed to socialize everything. Curious.
I heard Rush firsthand too, however, most people like Charles Johnson do not have the brain power to understand sarcasm, nor do they understand the larger point.
Why give them hits by posting their junk here?

I think the LGF satire on Rush is brilliant.
Took him off of my blogroll when it became apparent that he's gone off his meds or something. IIRC, he did have some good stuff exposing the professionally-aggrieved Palestinian wailers, and AP or UPI or somebody Photoshopping news pictures to make Israeli raid damage look worse than it was.
If he's just become another script-driven shill for the Big Government left, well then screw his act.

They choose to jump all over a JOKE that actually does have some ironic roots, but they give a pass to the President's company ACORN for openly PROMOTING child sex SLAVERY.
SLAVERY!!!! Not segregated buses, actual HELD AGAINST THEIR WILL AND FORCED TO WORK SLAVERY. (OK, there were not any slaves in the actual case as filmed, but the employees were so blase about it that there probably are, somewhere, some brothels pocketing taxpayer-through-ACORN funding.
Remember that Obama, in office, is more tied to ACORN than Cheney ever was, as Veep, to Halliburton.

A bus full of kids cheered on the beating of a white kid and Rush said of course, all whites are racist so it was self-defense and they need to keep minorities away from the vile racist white kid.
Remember that July 4th story of a family being attacked while watching fireworks by a mob yelling “It’s a black world” ? That wasn’t racial either according to the cops.
Or the old case in Miami where a bored gang decided to beat up the next white person to walk by. I think it was an elderly person. Of course that wasn’t racial either.

I never even once read Little Green Footballs. My first impression was that the name was referring to picking one's nose, rolling the material into ball shapes, and flicking them in random directions. It was an immediate turnoff to me. I refuse to patronize such juvenile names. It's gross. I may be wrong about the meaning, but I doubt it.
Rush’s satire is obviously not for everyone.
