NPR commentator Frank James has chosen to excuse the the ACORN personnel who are willing to help an assumed pimp and prostitute to set up a brothel, import under-age Central American children to become sex slaves, avoid taxes and scam the banks. He attributes this to the culture of the black underclass.
It's also important to keep in mind that ACORN's workers are coming from the same low-income neighborhoods the organization serves, with all that entails -- poor schools, high crime and the sorts of social problems that have been documented for decades.
NPR has been accused of racism by Liberals (see comments on the NPR website) and conservatives alike who deny that this is what black culture is all about. Yet look at the videos. The ACORN personnel dont bat an eye to these proposals. No are you sure that you should be doing this? Not what youre proposing is illegal. No disgust at the open discussion of selling young children to sexual predators for profit.
... James may have a point. Black culture or certain parts of it may not see anything wrong with pimps, Hos and importing teen aged Central American children for sexual exploitation, not to mention cheating on your taxes and lying to the bank. It does explain a lot of black music videos on MTV....

I don’t buy the whole black culture thing. Whites who live in those same neighborhoods tend to have very similar attitudes.
Sounds like more of an inner city culture to me.
We hear this bantered about over and over - all with an accusatory finger pointed at "the man"... But lets get serious for a moment. WHY are inner city schools so bad? In my experience, it isn't from lack of funding (despite what the teacher's unions say). It is a heart issue. AS long as there are parents (if there are parents) who don't care about education, then how can we expect "students" to care? Add to that the courts that have said that you can no longer "expel" students who prevent the educational process from going forward (got to serve them all), and mix in the liberal indoctrination and we wonder why the schools suck.
But until there is a change of heart - then nothing can be done for ANY amount of money.
Excuses are easy, solving the problems are tough. Because it is prevelent does not make it legal. If you are brought up to know right from wrong and Im sure they all were, then they should know better and should have acted accordingly. No excuses! the law was broken and they breached the tax payers trust. When you stand up for whats right you will find many who will stand with you!
Bush nailed it when he called this thinking ‘the soft bigotry of low expectations” held by liberals to excuse bad behavior in Blacks.
What gets forgotten in all this is that because most criminals work close to home,it is blacks who are the most likely victims of black criminals.
I don’t know why honest, moral and caring blacks don’t rise up and take the law into their own hands when they see where they live becoming hell holes of crime and vice. Maybe the gang intidmidation? Maybe the lack of support from the justice system?
But to speculate that such things are simply accepted and glossed over as part of black culture is insulting to blacks and everyone else. It presupposes that they just can’t help it and that being black means having some kind of skewered morality.
It is sin that causes that skewered morality and it is only by the Grace of God we ever keep it at bay. Not our race.
Give them a Bible and a copy of the Constitution and lock them in a room then.
Don't give them a pass to continue.
Way too many, including myself are fed up with being forced to toss our hard earned labor down the "crapper" just for political gain and "feel good" policy.
Maybe because they are a tiny minority in the inner city communities and are simply outnumbered?
This is garbage. Because if you could REPLACE EVERY ACORN WORKER WITH WHITE TRASH TRAILER HILLBILLIES THE RESULT WOULD BE SIMILAR OR THE SAME.
With the exception being that Obama would not be apart of them.
Let’s say (for the sake of argument only) that the comments by the NPR commentator are correct.
Is there ever gonna come a time where someone in the black community, in this case an ACORN worker, would look at these people and say “WTF are you trying to do here? I’m trying to better my community, not continue to leave it looking a giant pile of sh*t. Now get out”.
Until the black community gets past this “Aw, it’s just a ‘hood kind of thing”, their neighborhoods are continue to deteriorate, economically and socially.
Gee, that's about the most racist statement I have ever heard, only a liberal could get away with saying such a thing. Basically this the liberal version of the old racist mantra, "You can't blame them colored for what they do, they can't help that god made them all dumb, sex crazed, maniacs."
Could well be.
Trash comes in all colors.
It’s not racial; it’s just lowlife behavior that is found in all subcultures in the USA.
They'd be recommending meth labs be added to the mix.
But to speculate that such things are simply accepted and glossed over as part of black culture is insulting to blacks and everyone else.
&&
Exactly.
This is the ugly side of liberal racism.
Where the old "oh-so-superior" liberal "understands" the black debased animal before him - and revels in his own natural white superiority. I've seen the same thing from white liberal teachers who don't expect much from their black students for similar reasons. It's insulting and racist...
And we know how it feels because that's how liberals like Carlie Gibson look at us too... eff the liberals.

TS
It’s “low horizon” culture. That San Bernadino woman was white and the San Diego man was Latino.
