Birthers waste millions in taxpayer dollars
Obama Conspiracy theories ^ | 9/25/09 | Some hippy

Posted on 09/25/2009 12:36:14 PM PDT by pissant

You’ve heard, I’m sure, the claim that Obama has spent some large amount of money (since the amount is a wild guess, specifics vary widely) keeping his birth certificate a secret. Those who follow these questions know that nothing Obama can do will make the Conspiracy Theorists withdraw. If he was born in Hawaii, then he’s not a natural born citizen anyway. If a court rules the against them, it just means the judge is traitor. If nothing Obama can do (short of resigning) will have any effect on birther activity, then it is certain that the birthers bear all of the responsibility for all the public funds spent in dealing with birtherism.

What are those costs?

* Members of Congress are flooded with emails, letters and phone calls asking questions and making demands related to birther theories. Their staff read and answer the mail.

* State officials, including secretaries of state, are pestered with birther questions.

* FOIA requests (which in most cases are free to the requester) have been filed, and must be researched and responded to

* The state and federal courts have been flooded with cases (at least 60 actions!) and many of the plaintiffs have asked that the filing fee be waived.

* Many of the cases involve government defendants (state secretaries of state, Nancy Pelosi, the State Department, the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Elections Commission, Vice President Cheney, Secretary of State Clinton, Vice President Biden, Secretary of State Gates, various military commanders, the US House of Representatives and the US Senate — not to mention Barack and Michelle Obama). All of these are defended at public expense.

Add up the time and effort of congressional staff, judges, law clerks, state officials and federal agency staffers. It’s got to be in the millions. Birthers are not harmless

Enact a policy of “Loser Pays” ... and if the plaintiffs fail to prove that Obama is not qualified, then the plaintiffs can pay Obama’s and the government’s legal fees.

(1) It is not the responsibility of anyone but BO & the Demonrat Party to prove that he is qualified. (The Constitution does not say, "Anybody can be President as long as no one else can prove that they're not qualified.")
(2) The government should have no dog in the fight, therefore should not be a party to case, therefore should collect no expenses, regardless the outcome.

Otherwise, I think that's a fine idea.

Well, the Zero has spent 146 bazillion dollars perfecting the art of pilotless drone missile attacks in Pakistan in preparation to deploying them to the US to silence his critics.

Blame Congress for standing by silently and not doing the job they’re being paid to do. How is it that there are so many “birthers” among the general public and none among Congress?

Is it a conspiracy to keep a legally unqualified POTUS in power? If that is the case, they are committing treason.

And the Constitution fails to provide a process by which the president’s eligibility is verified.

And there is no law that state’s that this president must provide more documentation than any other president in history.

Those who follow these questions know that nothing Obama can do will make the Conspiracy Theorists withdraw.

So ... the logical loony left line of thinking would then be to just not do anything at all when $10 and a phone call would clear everything up? Ridiculous. The author needs to put the blame where it belongs ... on Mr. Obama.

Yes, but Obama is helping Congress waste TRILLIONS.

And if it removes the Bamster from office a little earlier, or ruins his political effectiveness, it's well worth it.

They're not even a rounding error.

Cheers!

We have no choice but to try and get to the truth.
Obama administration has not allowed America to see any records that verify his words. We Would be fools to take a politician at his words without verification. Especially someone with radical friends and a Muslim background.

For a man who pretended to right his own autobiography when terrorist Bill Ayers actually did, there is NOTHING we can trust this marxist about.

That post of yours is the most outrageous, irrational analysis I have ever read. You have got to kidding? You are trying to justify the unauthorized expenditure of Federal funds to defend a President who is acting outside the scope of his employment (ineligible). It is those officials who are conducting this unauthorized defense that need to be taken to task for violating their duty to protect the U.S. Consitution, not Obama. Eventually, they will be brought to task for their unauthorized expenditures of our money. What an absoulte joke you are. Do you really believe that the intelligent, insightful Free Republic members who read and participate in this site are going to find your rubish convincing? Save your breath. Your not going to make any headway on this site.

Birthers are not harmless

I hope they are not!

So, I personally think the "Birther" thing deserves every encouragement, even though I also think that BHO, Jr. was born in Hawaii.

Keep'em busy. It's tennis. The "Birthers" keep hitting the ball back and Team Obama must respond. Now, the FOIA actions in Hawaii look very promising. If the Department of Health doesn't release the paperwork, they will be in violation of Hawaii Law.

But, and it's a big but, even if Stanley dropped her foal in the middle of the Sturgis on the 4th of July, he still wouldn't be a "Natural Born Citizen."

One of the reasons no one in office has done anything about this might be explained by a series of hearings held by Orrin Hatch in 2004, which took a long hard look at Article II, and attempted to redefine away "Natural Born Citizen," by considering steps to make all citizens equal in the matter of political eligibility.

In other words, Orrin (Nut) Hatch and the boys are trying to make

eligibility for any office a "Civil Right"

held by every citizen, whether Natural Born, Native Born, Naturalized, etc. They could do it by amendment, which is unlikely. Why bother? A couple more Wise Latina Justicias on the SCOTUS like Sotomayor, and it's a done deal. The President could then be the naturalized, former Dominican citizen, National League Pitcher with the lowest ERA. ¡VIVA EL PRESIDENTE!

I don't care how crazy the "Birthers" are. They have a right to see the paper work that led the Hawaii DoH to declare Obama "eligible." It's the law. And it's a whole lot less crazy than our elected representatives remaining mute while the Constitution is destroyed.

“Your not going to make any headway on this site.”

Neither are you if you don’t learn how to read an article heading, including the name of the author newbie.

Keep your i on the ball we are playing with.

Pissant posted the article. He did not write it. Posting does not mean a FReeper agrees (or even disagrees) with an author's views. He has, in FReeper fashion, thrown open the article for discussion by posting it to show the views of the author.

Pissant's opening comment directly addresses the issue, i.e., that in his opinion, the "Birthers" are not the primary or root cause of the expense, rather it is the intransigence of Team Obama in this matter.

Why the anger with the FReeper? Analysis of your post shows you agree with him, and disagree with the article's author.

FAX BLACK BACKGROUND

Fax? Waddayou, some kinda commie? Real "Birthers" use mimeograph machines. The outgassing of that old blue ink keeps us energized! KA-CHUNGA ... KA-CHUNGA ... KA-CHUNGA.

BTW, exactly who or what the hell is Barack Hussein Obama, Jr.? I can't seem to find any trace of him until 2004.
