Then rinse, lather and repeat.

Get the basics, then duplicate them with some fun options.

Lets hear it for the nearly indestructable, accurate, and once omnipresent Lee Enfield. Surplus 303 rounds aren't as common as they used to be, but occasionally can be found and some later models were made in 308. Unlike Mausers, Moisen-Nagants and 1903s the good ol' Enfield has a detachable 10 round magazine.

Personally I always liked the jungle carbaine model. You used to be able to pick these up for next to nothing, but now they are collectors items.

The 3 gen. Smith autos are real sleepers, particularly the .45’s. Bull strong, they were popular for converting to .45 Mag in the 90’s.

My favorite is the 4586, a DAO... long trigger pull but smooth and not heavy, like a slicked pre-war N frame.

I would have recommended the Lee Enfields, but for the .303 ammunition issue. Jungle carbine in .308 would be great. Dunham’s has one for $699.00.

I also like Smith .357 revolvers

I agree I have a Dan Wesson .357 with four barrels.

A close range discussion stopper.

Nice that an AR15 can be adapted to .22LR with ease via an inexpensive compact conversion kit. Add a can and you’ve got pretty quiet options. Not as hushed as a dedicated bolt, but close enough for most work.

IMHO, the SKS is superior to the AK-47 in accuracy. It has the added bonus of not being on the evil black gun lists.

Nice, but feeding that voracious appetite would be a bit of a problem. But then, if you can afford the $300,000 that thing would bring, you wouldn’t care much about the price of ammo.

Any thoughts out there about S&W M&P .40? M1 re-chambered for .308?

Two .22 rifles of good quality. If I had my choice it would be a Brno bolt action and a Ruger 10/22. There are better rifles than the 10/22 but it is good and there are just so many accessories for it.

A Ruger Single Six with two cylinders for .22 and .22 mag. A Beretta model 70 .22 auto.

An excellent or better 98 Mauser. (could just as well be a 1903 springfield etc.)

A high quality commercial bolt action 30-06 or the same caliber as your military Mauser. In other words if your military rifle is a Springfield then it would be 30-06.

Two high quality 12 gauge repeaters. One should be a pump or auto and the other could be the same or a short barreled lumpo double.

A high end wonder nine or 1911 .45.

A S&W .44 mag.

Lots of ammo for all especially the .22’s and spare mags for everything which takes them. Scopes for every thing which normally takes them.

I would also like to have a couple of high powered air rifles and plenty of pellets.

If I could add a few more guns, I would get an AR-15 or FN FAL or other high end auto. A Marlin or Winchester 30-30, a Marlin .22 mag rifle and maybe a second Mauser this time in 6.5 Swedish.

.45mag, no sh!t... well the frame will sure'nuff handle it, it'd love to try one

plus it's SS

i have an old habit of using the oldstyle canvas web shovel covers for a holster that completely covers the pistol plus additional mags(wrapped in plastic wrap&duct tape) and can be hooked to a web-belt and slung around the neck like a shoulder holster or attached to any us webgear/rucksack

and being stainless, well, that's just one more plus against the elements when it counts.
