Obama's accomplishments made it easy for Nobel committee
The Constitutional Alamo ^ | 10/09/09 | Michael Naragon

Stunning. Befuddling. Disturbing. Words that used to be used to describe Nancy Pelosi’s plastic surgery record can now be applied to the Nobel committee once again. After choosing pseudo-religious environmentalist Al Gore in 2007 for his film, An Inconvenient Truth, the Nobel group has apparently decided to award the president its highest award for… hope?

In a statement issued by the committee, Obama was being honored for his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.” Also cited by the Oslo, Norway group was Obama’s push to make the United Nations a preeminent force in international relations.

“Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future,” the committee’s chairman gushed. And so the committee is giving this year’s peace award for the promise of hope and change. If you listen carefully in Oslo, you can just hear the members of the Nobel group chanting “Yes we can!”

In a move that’s sure to spark bewilderment and consternation, the Nobel Peace Prize Committee has selected Barack Hussein Obama–mmm, mmm, mmm–to be the 2009 recipient of the award.

When was the last time this went to anyone that actually accomplished anything positive in their life?

Accomplishments? What accomplishments? I guess getting elected POTUS counts.

To say this is a travesty is an insult to travesties everywhere. When I first saw this, I thought for sure that it was a Scrabbleface article. This “peace” prize has just degenerated into a self-congraultory liberal beauty contest. No doubt the One’s ego just doubled in size—at this rate, it will comsume the entire universe by the end of his term.

Remember Arafat, Al Gore and Jimmy Carter have won this prize while Reagan, Thatcher and Pope John Paul II did not. That should put its relative worth into perspective...

I read the “for his accomplishments” and thought “what accomplishments?” Proving America isn’t racist?

I have it on good authority from a reliable source that Obama is going to be named America’s next “Top Model’, American Idol, winner of the Indy 500 and the Heisman trophy.

Agreed!

So unbelievable, I thought it was a fake headline or I'd picked up a browser hijacker to a fake news page.

I like how they mention it's for efforts. Wow...used to be you had to accomplish somwthing.
