Everyone, especially fellow Freepers, should take a few minutes to watch this interview. I think it was well done, and Rush was great as always.

That was a great interview. The five Today viewers who didn't turn it off immediately certainly learned that Rush is not who the media makes him out to be.

I am amazed, though I shouldn't be. In my life experiences I have always found the most genuine people sound as good unscripted (or better) than they do otherwise. The reason is obvious.
People that are comfortable and confident in themselves and hold true to their values, speak from their heart and have no need to “carefully” word their ideas or thoughts. You can't teach this. You either have it or you don't. The most charismatic people in history have some basic things in common. They are supremely confident in themselves, believe in what they are saying and don't mince words. They have no need to memorize and regurgitate speeches filled with stats, facts and quotes. Ironically, these are also qualities found in great LEADERS.

It was a great interview. She didn't give him soft-ball questions.
He was honest & open. I like that about Rush. He mans up & stands for what he believes in.

Oh, you mean like Sarah Palin? Yes, when she is unscripted. I might get crucified for this. Palin was hamstrung during the dampaign with McCain. I think they were trying to keep her on a leash and at times, it was not her best.
She is awsome when she isn't having to fake an agenda or add words and phrases to promote another cause.

re: Palin was hamstrung during the dampaign with McCain
That's what happens when you choose a running mate that's better suited for the office than you are! I don't think I will ever figure out why politicians are so quick to go after those on their own team.
I think had they used Sarah correctly, and not tried to reign her in and keep her down, they might even have won the election. I would have had her with McCain at every appearance and let her do the talking. McCain could have made great points by playing second fiddle, in a very humorous way, to her gifts.
Oh well, that was then, this is now and 2012 will be a different story if we play our cards right.
She might fall apart or self-destruct, or the MSM and Left might be able to do enough damage to destroy her chances, but until she does something to change my mind, she's my man!

My take in it, they are getting their clock cleaned and they know it. They know we don't watch anymore and they need a ratings boost as to not loose anymore advertisers. IMHO they are looking for someone like Rush to simulcast. The don't have Imus, and Glenn is pulling numbers that have to scare the living %&^* out of them. They can see their revenues spinning town the vortex in the toilet, and their job is next....
To: nutmeg

Did you notice Rush didn't try to hide his cochlear implant "hardware"? I'm sure the cameraman asked him about whether or not to avoid it? Judging by the prominence of the hearing aid in just about every shot, one can imagine Rush's answer.
Rush takes responsibility for his actions, he is comfortable in his own skin (finally . . .) and he has tremendous integrity. He is the best spokesman for conservatism. We are fortunate to have him representing us 3-hours a day.
