Just got this e-mail from Ziegler:

"You will want to read about my bizarre adventures on Saturday at Western CPAC in Newport Beach. You can view the complete story with video here. Please spread this link to those who you think might be interested as there are many who will be trying to spike this story.

Also, please don't respond to this e-mail unless it is urgent as my e-mail box needs to be cleaned out and I am way behind in doing that.

Thanks so much for your support."

REMEMBER: JOHN ZIEGLER WILL BE SPEAKING AT UC MERCED THIS FRIDAY. THE EVENT IS FREE AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND. CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS.

Is this a matter of RINO's not wanting to be called on the carpet for their RINO-ness?

Zeigler seems to be pretty even-keeled, at least far more than the MSM.

Thank you for posting this. Last Fall I had a discussion similar to this about Keene is only conservative when the conservative candidate comes up with the bucks. Just like was pointed out to me on here about how Keene’s conservative ratings don’t always makes sense.

This article made my day and I agree with Ziegler 100% about Keene and his organization. He is one of the inside the beltway Conservatives that forgot where he came from years ago and is more then willing to sell out for the big bucks of say someone like Romney.

We need to clean house and not support the groups that are in it to make boatloads of money to give to people like Arlen Specter who I am so happy is now a Democrat.

Thanks again — you made my morning!

“I have spoken at the last three CPACs and it always seemed pretty obvious to me that the vast majority of speaking slots and agenda items were determined by factors that had nothing to do with relevance, talent, worthiness, or benefit to the movement. Instead it was clear that personal relationships and donations/sponsorships ruled the day.”

The Republicans have sold their soul too. Too much money chasing to few politicians(”WHOREFLATION”)

By definition, there are more individualists than elitists.

Get together and vote them out of the party.

Yes, we want “elites”, but not “elitISTS”.

This is a case of Keene and ACU selling out to the highest bidder IMHO. I have suspected for sometime that CPAC was not on the up and up on who spoke when. Also suspected after listening very closely that Keene went for the highest bidder.

Having seen the videos, I wanted to hit Ziegler.
Whether Keene is, or is not, selling himself or CPAC can be looked at, but not by behaving like a clown.

The only thing Ziegler accomplished was to destroy his credibility forever.

David Keene has sold his soul to the people like Romney who is no conservative but he gave him cover.

I think Republicans should be very careful where they send their money and make sure it is used the way they want. I have had suspicions about Keene for a long time. My recommendation is to give direct to candidates and quit funding organizations like the ACU.

We need to build up new and renewed conservative organizations that sink the rino ones. We can do that by generating excitment about clear ideals and an agenda of reforms.

I have suspected Keene of RINOdom for a long time. I never trusted him, and I quit donating to “Republican” organizations years ago.

I must respectfully disagree. Keene has been the head of this organization since 1984....Time for new blood.

His seemed love for and backing of weak sister candidates, along with this clear FedEx pay-for-play fiasco, has him found compromised and conservatives need to show him the door.

I will no longer support the conservative CPAC or my party when a large number sit in Newport Beach while playing nice-nice to a bunch of corrupt hacks.

I had a good friend decide to run for assemblyman here in California. Most the conservative organizations, local, state and national GOP officials were oh so happy to meet him. What did they have to offer him? NOTHING! Instead, they wanted to know about his organization, what their numbers were, how well they raised money, and could they please have some. Time for these types to rot.

Ziegler: You are arrogant, rude and haughty.

Thanks, nonetheless.

If I understood Ziegler correctly, he uses the term "birther" as if it were a self-explanatory disqualifier of serious debate from anyone so tagged.

I've not heard that type of reasoning among conservatives.

I’m not aware it’s up for debate anymore. Keene got exposed earlier in the year for trading his opinions and endorsements. He was called out on several conservative blogs in the aftermath.

Perhaps.

But some of us Palint-bots also had a problem with the head of CPAC's support for a former RINO, now full blown RAT:

Palin-bashing CPAC/ACU Chair donated $2,000 to Arlen Specter, endorsed Romney
The first letter of "CPAC" is supposed to stand for CONSERVATIVE, right?

I know there are unsupported or discreditable and out-there claims among those with reservations about BHO's NBC qualifications, e.g., BHO born in Kenya, not US citizen because of Indonesian passport, etc. but my understanding is that the libs and MSM would lump any and all who are not yet fully satisified by the KOS-provided COLB as "birthers", and that we do ourselves a disservice when we use that label just as would the liberals and MSM.

Ziegler seemed to be doing just that.

Zieglers' Conclusion is Right On!

This entire episode has greatly furthered my already strongly held belief that the vast majority of the conservative “movement” is “led” by fakes, flakes, freaks, frauds, phonies and sell outs who are far more interested in protecting their own little thiefdoms than promoting the cause. That may not surprise veterans of the political process and human nature, but I would still like to believe that the principles of freedom, liberty, limited government, national security and the constitution deserve much better than that.

There are many reasons why conservatism finds itself clinging to a quickly dying minority in America, and this issue is right at the top of the list. If I have given up my career in the movement to spark a change, it will be well worth it. Regardless, I know that, while I am hardly perfect, I have fought a just fight and always did what I thought was right.

**************************************

Yes! And THIS IS WHY John Ziegler inspires the rest of us Freedom Fighters!!

Guts. Guts. And more Guts!!!

AMERICAN all the way!!!

Most people define conservative as “what I think”, so until there is an accepted norm for the word it can mean anything anyone wants it to.

I’ve asked that question many times on FR and besides the inevitable food fight at least a third of the respondents start out by claiming it begins with a belief in Jesus Christ as one’s Lord and Savior and the next two most common were abortion and generally just hating homosexuals.

In other words most people define conservative on where one stands on certain issues dear to their hearts, not an overall philosophy about the role of government, taxes, etc.

Sort of like ART, eh? (And pornography.)
I know it when I see it.
Maybe. But from a thread currently posted in Breaking News, many of us would agree that most of THESE beliefs, for example, are NOT "conservative."
Dick Armey to endorse 3rd party candidate over "Republican" in NY House race
Dallas Morning News ^ | 2:04 PM Mon, Oct 19, 2009 | Dick Armey to endorse 3rd party candidate over Republican in NY House race
Posted on Monday, October 19, 2009 1:37:18 PM by cc2k

The special election to fill New York's vacant 23rd congressional seat is perhaps the earliest test of the GOP's chances to reclaim the House in 2010.

Yet the GOP candidate, Dede Scozzafava, has struggled to line up Republican support, and has taken a pummeling from conservative groups that assert she's liberal. The Club for Growth and Eagle Forum, among others, support her opponent, Doug Hoffman, who's running on the Conservative Party ticket.

Add North Texas' Dick Armey to the list of conservative stars backing Hoffman...

-- snip --

..Scozzafava also holds these positions:

Pro choice
In favor of gay marriage
In favor of Cap and Trade (I need to check my sources on this. Newt said she opposed this)
In favor of Employee Free Choice Act (Card Check)
In favor of the Stimulus
In favor of Bank Bailouts
Scozzafava has also run in past elections on the Working Families Party (a progressive party associated with ACORN) line on the ballot.

Obama is pleased with our interparty squables. Clearly conservatives are suffering a delusion that there is strength in exclusivity. Perhaps others are not watching the frightening rat assault on conservative/balance media. and the exultation of all things liberal and evil. I swear some Freepers would purge the GOP until only they and Palin remained. Didn’t like McCain, fool? Choke on 0, Pelosi, and Reid. We have an oportunity to stop the rats if we stop pushing away our allies in the GOP.

No, Keene was polite through the first part of the interview until badgered by that punk.

It was a lesson on how not to be professional. In fact, the last comment by the hotel security man was, although a bit unprofessional himself, accurate. Paraphrasing ”Go join your friend Michael Moore.”

If Keene and the ACU are rotten or sell outs, playing the fool does nothing but strengthen them. A real interviewer would have done more than throw petty accusations and pull a temper tantrum. Ziegler did nothing forcefully other than make himself irrelevant.

I’m not disagreeing with you, I don’t understand why the GOP is backing this woman, maybe it has something to do with her past work and commitment to the local GOP group. Maybe this guy entered the race late.

At first I thought maybe it was a pro choice/gay area and they felt a candidate opposing that would not have a chance to win...which is a valid political concern. But they quite readily elected the previous office holder who appears to be against those issues.

But all this is tangent to my original post.
