[You can view this revision here: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Rush_Limbaugh&diff=prev&oldid=277367]

Rush Limbaugh is an American conservative radio and television talk show host. His shows are discussions primarily of politics from a conservative point of view; he does not pretend to be giving an unbiased view of the facts, i.e., his shows are presented as commentary on the news, though much news is presented along with the commentary. Many progressive and liberal critics decry the lack of a balance between liberal and conservative viewpoints on Limbaugh's shows. Rush Limbaugh's radio show is best described as an extended editorial on current news stories.

Limbaugh's response to this accusation is to assert that most news reporting is liberally biased; as he says, "I am equal time."

Limbaugh's commentary, supporters (and Limbaugh himself) allege, exposes liberal fallacies and bias and supports conservative principles. Liberals, on the other hand, enjoy exposing Limbaugh's own fallacies, misstatements, and bias.

Limbaugh started out in radio as a teenager in the late 1960s in his home town of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, using the name "Rusty Limbaugh". His father, a conservative judge whose wealth and power gave him considerable influence in Southeastern Missouri, had once owned the radio station where Limbaugh started his career.

Limbaugh achieved his first taste of radio success in Pittsburgh, as host of a Top 40 music radio show, using the name "Jeff Christie". It was in Pittsburgh that many of Limbaugh's trademarks developed, including a character named "Snerdley" and his claim to use a "golden microphone".

After several years in music radio, Limbaugh accepted a position as director of promotions with the Kansas City Royals baseball team. In 1988, Limbaugh returned to radio as a talk show host in Sacramento, California. After achieving some local success, he moved to New York City in the early 1990s and eventually became syndicated via a company called Premiere Broadcasting. Limbaugh refers on-air to the "Excellence In Broadcasting Network", or "E-I-B", however there is no such actual organization.

In September 2001, Limbaugh denied suggestions that his voice and diction seemed to have changed. However, in October of 2001, Limbaugh admitted that the changes in his sound were due to an almost total hearing loss.

Rush Limbaugh uses his own jargon, which we explain here: /Dittoheads /EIB /Emotional punditry /Environmental wacko /Feminazi /Stack of stuff External links

NOTE TO ADMINS: I realize Wikipedia content is not usually welcome at FR; however, I think this article has some historical significance and should prove to be of interest to many Freepers. Kindly allow this post to remain here on FR.

This very first, original version of the Rush Limbaugh Wikipedia article was first published by an anonymous poster at IP address 193.133.134.xxx.

As far as I can determine, this is the first available version of Rush's article. It is still amazingly accurate and relevant, in my opinion.

The edit history of every single Wikipedia article is saved, in its entirety, going back to the first day it was published. This makes it possible to track progress and compare versions over time; it also tells you who is making the edits, whether they are anonymous, and, if a registered user, that user's complete edit history.

I realize many Freepers do not trust Wikipedia, especially articles on politically-charged topics. However, one little-known way to unearth the "behind the scenes" editorial fights surrounding an article -- and thus get facts that other editors have deleted from an article -- is to study the "Talk Page" of an article. This page is where editors argue and hash out differences of opinion on how an article should be worded, sourced, and structured.

I hope you all enjoy this!

Not being,

Silly

Many, especially on the left, confuse newscasters and commentators.
Rush, along with talk radio, is admittedly a comentator.

I guess the only leftist “comentary” was Airhead America, but
not really needed, as the “MSM” has become news, commentary,
and leftist cheerleaders all in one.

I subscribe to Rush 24/7.

I pay for online access to Dennis Miller; I enjoy his wit and he has a really great variety of amazing guests.

Also listen to Mark Levin, and I watch YouTube uploads of Glenn Beck’s complete show each day.

I do wish Laura Ingraham was still on WABC in NYC. I just love her sense of humor.

The page has since seen vandalism by the left, and many of the vandalisations have been left in place now and then.

Currently there is no “vandalism” on this article.

There are probably edits people disagree with, or even some factual errors (which I highly doubt), but vandalism? Sorry, no way.

If you can point out one example of vandalism in the current version, you win a bun.

Since 2001 the left kiddies have ow and then messed with it.
I expect them to do so again.
(Like the phony quotes they put up recently!)

“ow” and then?
Uh oh, typo alert!
Should read “now”.

Yes, I realize these articles get attacked, especially conservative figures.

Notwithstanding the left-lean of many editors and Wiki-Czars, however, true vandalism is usually fixed immediately — within a minute or two. And factual errors, if challenged with well-sourced information, usually wins out with due persistence, albeit with some rangling.

“I do wish Laura Ingraham was still on WABC in NYC. I just love her sense of humor.”

You can get ALL of the talkers online.
I use www.radiotime.com

You can select any format and get a list of times and stations
of those that are on at that time.

I am now listening to Savage, via a station in Salisbury, NC.

Laura is now online via KJMT in Calico Rock, AR

I use RadioTime as well — it’s excellent, thanks for the plug!

Levin is boring me at the moment. I may switch to Laura!

I know, it cracks me up.

The big surprise, however, is Garofalo. I am blown away that she beat out Levin and Hannity.
