VIDEO: Delivering the weekly Republican address, House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) outlined Republicans plan to make health care more accessible and affordable for American families at a price our nation can afford. The address highlights the differences between Republicans smart, fiscally responsible reforms and Speaker Nancy Pelosis (D-CA) 1,990-page government takeover of health care.

NObody but Republicans will hear it.
Republicans plan to make health care more accessible and affordable for American families

Why do they think that is their job?
Can we get a transcript to send around?
There are problems in the health care system that need fixing. DO NOTHING appeals to hard core Conservatives, it does not sell as a message to the masses.
There are problems in Health Care. They have been created by the Government decades of regulation of the system. There are common sense solutions that can be implements to fix the Govt caused flaws in the system
Oh so NObody but Republicans will hear it.
wrong! If everyone uses their e mail list, vwalla!
So what are you waiting for? DO IT!
The government backing out of private industry is the only thing that is going to have long term benefits. There more they regulate and then make fixes to the regulation messes, the more tangled and broken the situation becomes (in more areas than just health care).
Boehner (?-OH) is going to act Republican this week? Hard to believe.
That is nice as a statement of Libertarian ideology, it is factually incorrect.
Anarchy works only as theory not in fact. Govt is the way we organize our civilization. It has a role in preventing force fraud and abuse. It also is the referee that manages conflict between citizens. Both have a role in any health care system.
For example. Currently government prevents you from buying health care across state lines. One simple fix the Republicans are advocating is portability, Remove the regulations that prevents you from buying any health care plan you wish.
Another thing Govt can do is expand Health Savings Accounts and move the tax break business get from offering health care to the individual.
Then the obvious solution of medical malpractice reform is something only Govt can do since it regulates the courts.
Talking about portability is exactly what I am talking about. The Feds make up rules that ultimately don’t work and then have to make up new ones to fix problems which again produce unintended consequences. Protability should never have been an issue in the first place.
There is civil recourse to many of the issues that the mountains of regulations try to address that work better than those regulations.
Sometimes the referees cause more injustice than the combatants.
I am enjoying the conversation though. ;-)
Approach it this way “Here is where Government “trying to reform Health Care” has screwed up the system in the past and here is how we fix it”.
You were right in that I do tend to lean toward the small l libertarian perspective but I am not an anarchist. I believe that disassembling much of what government has created would benefit everyone. That is in opposition to making bigger and better Band-Aids for real or manufactured problems (and they are often manufactured problems).
We have a wonderful system for handling bad behavior and injury without more nannystate oversight.
I don’t agree with you.
I consider myself a “hardcore conservative” .. and I want some of these changes to take place. My health plan has gone up $29 in just 3 years and I’m not getting any more for my money.
We need for insurance to be available across state lines - something similar to auto insurance.
And .. the most important - WE NEED TORT REFORM.
