Apparently, he only has time to go to Berlin when it's all about him!
Rich Lowry points out that:
In his first year in office, Barack Obama has visited more foreign countries than any other president. Hes touched ground in 16 countries, easily outpacing Bill Clinton (3) and George W. Bush(11). But theres one stop Obama wont make. He has begged off going to Berlin next week to attend ceremonies commemorating the fall of the Berlin Wall. His schedule is reportedly too crowded.Obama had time to fly all the way over to Copenhagen to plead for Chicago to get the Olympics but no time to attend an anniversary which marks the restoration of peace and freedom to a Europe that was divided and on a knife's edge in the years following World War II?
German Chancellor Angela Merkel personally invited Obama in June to this historic event and he had accepted. But now he tells the Germans that he's just too busy.
Yet somehow, Obama will find time to fly to Sweden in a few weeks time and accept a Nobel Peace Prize which he hasn't earned. Still, he'll be the center of attention at that event and he'd be just another world leader at the events in Berlin.

Isn’t he flying to Indonesia in couple weeks to be with his Muslim buddies? That should tell you all you need to know about who and what the Messiah thinks is important.
Do we really want to see him mourning the loss of his beloved GDR on worldwide TV?
He can pour a 40 on the curb in memory of his homie Erich Honecker.
He heard the golf course sucked.
I think you will find that Merkel hasn’t shown any interest (unlike Uk’s Brown) to have photo ops with Obama. German cooperation....is rapidly cooling...note the GM episode with Opel this week. And no one in the German government is really showing any thrills over the guy.
I suspect that the turbo-charged feeling in Germany is sliding downward.
Obama: Rebuild this wall!
A woman called Rush yesterday to give what she thinks is the reason —— and Rush was impressed.
She said that O was denied speaking at the Brandenberg Gate — as he hadn’t accomplished anything yet. (or words to that effect) And this is his revenge.
Which sounds pretty reasonable -— and further illustrates his pettiness and nothingness.
I hear he had planned to give a speech apologizing for the mess and litter American left behind when we fought the Cold War.
I have made the point repeatedly that Obama has NO close relationship with ANY world leader after 10 months in office. The MSM will not pick up on this story, but to me it says a lot about the man. Bush was close with Blair, Merkel and Sarkozy got along fine with him, and built a group of countries to help invade Iraq. Barry can’t even get anybody to support even slightly tougher sanctions on Iran.
Our allies don’t like him, and our enemies don’t respect or fear him. Not a recipe for a successful foreign policy.
Make him a Greek shrine, and let him sit on Jupiter’s throne. Delusions of godhood will temper Obamao’s disappointment over the fall of the glorious commie empire. Germany needs to play the wannabe demigod’s game, if his unholy presence matters that much. I think the German people should be happy with their good fortune. Why lament the absence of a Hitleresque lunatic during a celebration of freedom?
He can’t attend because there is nothing he can apologize for.
I think the fall of the Berlin wall offends Obama. Ronald Reagan’s name will likely be mentioned during ceremonies. The name will obviously put Obama in an uncomfortable position. It will also highlight the stark differences between him and Reagan.
Since it is not about him, he is not interested in being upstaged by a dead American President.
There are several issues that have contributed to Obama’s refusal to attend the ceremony celebrating the end of the Berlin Wall, not the least of which is the fact that Obama Obama is a communist and the fall of the wall was not a good day for world communism.
Obama wanted to give a campaign speech at the Brandenburg gate and Germany told him no. Obama was probably going to say something about bringing together the factions that were once separated by more than a wall. Obama is trying to use the same Alinsky organizing techniques with his foreign policy that he is using at domestically. Obama wants to bring all the aggrieved parties together in opposition to the power of the USA. He is setting himself up as a different kind of leader, that doesn’t view history in the same way that the typical western male views history. He couldn’t push that theme, while honoring the fall of the wall in the traditional sense.
We all come from different backgrounds but I think we could relate to other foreign leaders reactions to Obama. Have you ever been at an important meeting or event where you were meeting or in the company of a very important person that dissappointed you? You are sitting there befuddled by the actions/statements/ignorance of a person that is suppose to be of an elite nature. You have no words to dispell or contribute on an infantile level. So instead you think to yourself, "This guy is a mental midget. How the hell did he get here?"
In my buisiness I am routinely pitched in contract negotiations, some hotly contested. I always prep myself and on many occassions have walked out of a meeting thinking, "Wow. What a clown." Still, you are always cordial but laugh at them behind their back.
I offer you this correction. Our allies have no respect for him and our enemies are laughing at our very own "Mental Midget."
Why would an avowed Marxist celebrate a victory over Marxism?
It’s like a Red Sox fan flying to the Bronx to celebrate the Yankee victory last night.
Some questions answer themselves.
No-brainer. Why would a communist want to celebrate the defeat of communism?
great analysis.
I think our allies think of him as a “mental midget”, too and most of them our laughing behind his back and probably shaking their heads that Americans could have voted in this guy as president.
Our allies dont like him, and our enemies dont respect or fear him
And don’t forget, We the People don’t like him either.
Maybe they took back his invitation!!
maybe the European electricity isn’t compatible for his teleprompter or possibly he could send loose lips Biden beings his strong suit is european affairs and diplomacy
