“That’s not a crime to call al Qaeda, is it?”

Clueless Chris Matthews:

"See - we have a problem," Matthews said. "How do we know when someone like Hasan is going to make his move and do we know he's an Islamist until he's made his move? He makes a phone call or whatever, according to Reuters right now. Apparently he tried to contact al Qaeda. Is that the point at which you say, ‘This guy is dangerous?' That's not a crime to call up al Qaeda, is it? Is it? I mean, where do you stop the guy?"

I love it how Dr. Jasser is trying to get a word in, and the host just goes on and on....and on with his blathering ramble. Just unbelievable to watch this news guy tie himself up in knots, trying to rationalize and come to terms with the fact that Islam played an influential role in Nidal Hassan's murderous act of terrorism, and all the signs for taking preemptive action were present, yet ignored for fear of being branded racist/bigoted/intolerant/discriminating/etc. Thank you PC!

Incidentally, Zuhdi Jasser, who considers himself a devout Muslim, believes in the virtues of profiling:

The combination of profound cluelessness and abject hatred of our military is striking.

Hatred of our military? Yup. Matthews has totally forgotten who was the victim here.

And this is indicative of the types running this country.

Forget health care being a mess in 2013. the way things are going, I half expect a major US city to be a smoking, radioactive heap before then with this crew in charge.

I pray every day that I am wrong.

Seems to be an ongoing problem these days in the MSM any time one mentions Islam.

This is a sound bite that should be repeated ad infinitum in a radio/TV commercial.

No Chrissy, you stupid putz. It’s not illegal. Not at all. Unless the government decides to enforce the horrible draconian restrictions on your personal freedom and curtailment of your civil rights and Cponstitutional freedoms created by George Bush’s egregious Patriot Act.

No, no not a problem for a muslim to contact al queda, a militant terrorist group bent on killing the great satan, America. Where in the world could that be a problem?

That problem —political correctness— is going to cost this nation a whole lot of lives.

There’s something wrong with this man, Matthews. He seems to think his role in life is to feed the public delusions that fit the Democratic Party agenda. He doesn’t stop, even when common sense would tell him to.

Having this man on the air does the public a disservice.

While the left-wing muddled-brained moral relativists dither innocent people die.

Time to send them somewhere far away so their navel gazing won't have such lethal consequences.

Well, yes Virginia, conspiring with and giving aid and comfort to the enemy during a time of war is ... in fact, illegal.

As a matter of fact it is a crime.

Uniform Code of Military Justice
Article 104 Aiding the Enemy

Any person who—

(1) aids, or attempts to aid, the enemy with arms, ammunition, supplies, money, or other things; or

(2) without proper authority, knowingly harbors or protects or gives intelligence to or communicates or corresponds with or holds any intercourse with the enemy, either directly or indirectly;

shall suffer death or such other punishment as a court-martial or military commission may direct.

In the case of Hasan, it shouldn’t make any difference whether it was a crime or not. He was active duty military, and it was an activity incompatible with service in the US military. As soon as it was discovered, he should have been ordered to stop, and thrown in the brig if he violated that order.

It already has. PC didn’t start just yesterday. It was already very noticeable during the Vietnam war with its many target restrictions.

It was most noticeable right after 9/11 when GW came up with that infamous phrase “Religion of Peace” and how the entire Congress, general staff, Karzai and Mrs. Bush in the bleechers rose to their feet and loudly applauded while there were still human remains in the heap of rubble in NY.

Oh, it must feeeel so gooood to describe Islam that way.

It is no more surprising to see a member of our military who consulted with the Obama administration on Homeland Security seeking guidance from Al Qaeda and radical Imam in Yemen than it is to see tax cheats in charge of the US Treasury and the House Ways and Means committee or a heterophobic man as the Safe Schools czar.

Down is up. Wrong is right.

And an antiamerican apologist is in the White House.
