CNN Reviews Oath Keepers (VIDEO)
MyFreePress ^ | 11/19/2009 | Jason

What is CNN talking about in this video? I think they are from a different planet. Of course people are upset about what is going on. CNN makes mention of some genius's comment "They are exploiting false rumors found on fringe websites". Is Fox News a fringe website? Are the everyday hard working Americans who are protesting fringe now? Why doesn't CNN just report it like it is? Why don't they just say "Obviously enough people are concerned for their safety, and a group called the Oath Keepers has popped up because of this"? Why didn't they play the entire Oath Keepers video? Doesn't CNN realize these are retired Police Officers, Military and Service personal. Most the retired Police Officers I know are typically rational people. Before this administration they weren't part of the Oath Keepers. The Oath Keepers are here "because" of this administration and the direction they are going! We fear for our future and the future of this Country! I personally would rather be spending time with my family and not worrying about my son's future and writing this article! Doesn't CNN realize every time they report the news this way it just makes us worry more?

So Kim Jong Il Television doesn't like Americans who value the Constitution, eh?

Big surprise!

I think it was at Red State, but someone at that blog went through these guys “charter” with a fine tooth comb and exposed them as a militia which swears allegiance to THE PRESIDENT rather than to The Constitution. Subtle but huge difference

Typical liberal main fringe media forming and shaping the news to their view and spoon feeding it to the mental limited sheeple to consume.

That's not what I heard. I just read an email saying the Oath Keepers were law enforcement officers who swore allegiance to the Consititution, and that they would never fire on American citizens no matter who ordered them to. Which is it?

Here's what was in the email I got:

The increasing militarization of local police to support federal emergency "crowd-control" plans is drawing a reaction among ex-military and police officers in the form of the Oath Keepers.

This group, founded in March, have pledged themselves to defend the Constitution if they are ever ordered to fire on American citizens on U.S. soil.

The Oath Keepers are specifically promising they will not obey any order to disarm U.S. citizens in violation of their Second Amendment rights. The Oath Keepers movement is headed by ex-army paratrooper and Yale-educated lawyer Steward Rhodes, who says "the whole point of Oath Keepers is to stop a dictatorship from ever happening here... my focus is on the guys with the guns, because they can't do it without them." It is impossible to know just how large the Oath Keepers movement is. But the fact that it exists at all suggests some Constitution-friendly people in law-enforcement are themselves disturbed about the militarization of local police in support of federal emergency planning.

Who sent this email? Federal Emergency planning. They are just waiting for the next emergency to make their move.

holyscroller, you are correct. I know this is an old thread, but the record about Oath Keepers needs to be corrected, as I did here:

Here's the Red State article:

The Malignant Nature of the Oath Keeper Movement

And Oath Keepers' response:

“Malignant Nature” Deconstructed by a Current Serving West Pointer Who Served With the 82nd Airborne.

About OathKeepers

"Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of currently serving military, veterans, peace officers, and firefighters who will fulfill the oath we swore to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God.

Our oath is to the Constitution, not to the politicians, and we will not obey unconstitutional (and thus illegal) and immoral orders, such as orders to disarm the American people or to place them under martial law and deprive them of their ancient right to jury trial.

We Oath Keepers have drawn a line in the sand. We will not “just follow orders.”

Our motto is “Not on our watch!”

If you, the American people, are forced to once again fight for your liberty in another American Revolution, you will not be alone. We will stand with you.

There is at this time a debate within the ranks of the military regarding their oath. Some mistakenly believe they must follow any order the President issues. But you can rest assured that many others in the military do understand that their loyalty is to the Constitution, and understand what that means.

The mission of Oath Keepers is to vastly increase their numbers. We are in a battle for the hearts and minds of our own troops. To win that battle, Oath Keepers will use written and video testimony of active duty military, veterans (especially combat vets), and peace officers to reach, teach, and inspire our brothers in arms in the military and police to fulfill their oaths and stand as guardians of the Republic.

If you are currently in the military, are a veteran, or are a peace officer, please submit your written and/or video testimony on your oath, so you can help us win that battle for hearts and minds. Your submission may be anonymous.

Guardians of the Republic, fulfill your oath. Join us..."
