We here at Grand Rants are frequently critical of the Presidents policies, and for good reason. We have also had occasion to pick on the First Lady as well. But when either one of them does things right, we like to point out those instances as well.
Last night, Michelle Obama appeared every inch a First Lady the entire country could applaud. No dowdy red-and-black disaster dress, no unflattering dear-Lord-what-the-heck-is-that-outfit? moment.
She was drop-dead gorgous...

Absolutely agree. Lovely.
Naw, it still needs a barf alert
Drop Dead Gorgeous???
Come on now. She finally dressed the part, but a fresh coat of paint on a rotten house makes it look good, it doesnt fix the problem.
Sorry, dressing her up doesn’t change a thing. She’s still a harridan.
NO way! She was showing too much skin.
I’d still prefer a little more substance. World leaders observed from his recent trips to Asia that there wasn’t a lot of substance to obama.
The catchy slogans don’t mean much to them.
Finally a great dress for her. I wonder if she got a new stylist?

Yep.
Someone took charge and made her look like a real First Lady.
Not bad.
I’m not talking about policy, or attitude, or anything else. Simply noting that for once, she actually looked like a First Lady should look: elegant, poised, and lovely.
Hate to have to say it but I agree. Astounding transformation. Will it last? I don’t think so. After all, they were both on stage last night and the world revolves around them so they believe everyone was watching and they put their best foot forward.
Agreed. However,I wonder if she was wearing her Air Jordans?
I give absolute kudos for the dress (when she’s STILL)....like I did last night. Then..this morning...I woke up to F&F and caught a glimpse of her ‘walking’ in it. A thing of beauty is wasted when it is put on a ‘clod’. She just doesn’t know how to carry herself. Someone in the WH seriously needs to teach her a lesson in ‘poise and grace’.
I grudgingly agree - she looked quite good.
RE: “appeared to be having a good time” - Maybe she recently upped her Prozac dosage.
That should have been her inauguration dress. It’s stunning. As opposed to the bed cover.
I thought the same thing, Crooked Constituent. The dress was beautiful - if you were going to the Oscars or a showbiz deal. Hosting a state dinner? Not so much.
I’m getting tired of seeing her bazooka arms.
I think Michelle must have a new fashion advisor. She’s looked downright presentable the last few days. Maybe she’s finally getting the message (or reading the Aunt Esther references on FR!).
