Al Gore: Tipper and I were the Inspiration for “New Moon”

Nashville, Tn- Former Vice President, and partial human being, Albert Gore Junior recently came forward with the somewhat spurious claim that the novel New Moon -and by extension the blockbuster movie using the afore mentioned title as its source material- is based largely on the romantic exploits of himself and wife Tipper. According to the recently divulged Gore narrative he was, for a brief time in college, a Vampire. “It was a phase I was going through. Like the time I invented the Internet. You know just one of those things that happen in college when your trying to discover who you are. Some people dye their hair. Some people join the peace corp. I turned into a bat and had an extreme aversion to crosses and sunlight.” The claim goes on to report that at the same time Gore was rooming with Bram Stoker and started dating Tipper [nee Rockerfeller]. It was a convergence of these three that led Stoker to create his magnum opus, the Twilight cycle of novels.

Given the propensity of Alber Gore Jr. to make absurd claims this one is being greeted with an understandable level of incredulaty. Not everyone, however, is convinced that the a proposition can be so easily dismissed as the usual sort of bragadocio, hubris and stupidity that the Tennesee native is so well known for. According to former Supreme Court Justice -turned literary critic- Oliver Wendall Homeless, “What has to be considered here is that this story -unlike the time he claimed to have invented Happy Hour, Sideburns or the The Drive Through Window- this one cannot be so quickly discounted. After all were I to write a novel about a blood sucking parasite and his dog . . . well Al and Tipper would most certainly be at the top of my short list of probable inspirations.”

As well as the inspiration for “Love Story’’ and he invented the internet too. I think Al also invented hubris.

I believe Eric Segal, author of “Love Story” has stated that Al and Tipper were not the inspiration for either Oliver Barrett IV or and Jenny Cavalleri.

I suspect the author of New Moon will issue a similar statement.

Algore is a compulsive liar. He lies about trivial things as well as important things. Often, his lies are so careless and obvious that they can easily be found out, e.g recalling his parents singing “Look for the Union Label” to him years before it was written. Still, he continues to lie.

You'd think after Manbearpig he'd keep his mouth shut. Cereal.

“At the same time,” the former Vice-President said, “Tipper and I had an awfully bad fight about who really invented the Internet—I said I did, she said the military did years before we even met—but I turned to her and said, ‘love means that you don’t have to say you’re sorry.’”
